BEST BUDDIES KICK OFF MEETING
Are you interested in meeting new people? Would you love to connect with peers and grow new friendships? Join MVHS Best Buddies for the 2024-25 school year, as a Peer Buddy or an Associate Member. We will be kicking off a year of friendship and fun with the Best Buddies program on THURSDAY (9/19) from 6:00-7:30 PM in the MAC Classrooms. We will be playing games and getting to know each other ahead of our Buddy Matches. Games and snacks will be provided. We can't wait to see you there and continue to grow a community of inclusion and friendship here at Mounds View High School!
VOTER REGISTRATION
On Thursday (9/19) during class periods 3, 4, and all 4 lunches, stop by our table near the cafeteria to get registered to vote!
Anyone over 16 is eligible to pre-register to vote. Bring a driver license, Minnesota ID, or the last 4 digits of your social security number to pre-register. Democracy is not a spectator sport, so get civically engaged with your school community!
MEDIA CLUB MEETING
Are you interested in photography, editing, or videography? Do you want to capture the unforgettable moments of our school in a full-year Mounds View Rewind?
Media Club will have its info meeting on Friday (9/20) from 8:00-8:30 AM in Room 252.
MUSTANGS VS PONIES AT STILLWATER ON FRIDAY
Football will play on Friday (9/20) at Stillwater High School. Kick off is 7:00 PM! It is Stillwater's homecoming, so get there early! Adults are $8.00 and students / senior citizens are $5.00. NOTE: Elementary and Middle School Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to attend football games at Pony Stadium. Parents/Guardians must also purchase tickets and remain at the game with their students. Students should sit with their parents in the bleachers.

BOWLING TEAM: The bowling team kicked off their season with a very strong start. Varsity won 9/10 games, JV won 10/10 games and the Emerging Team kept pace with the JV team! Come cheer on the teams for their next game at the Mermaid on Friday (9/20) at 3:30 PM. Go Mustangs!
DREAMCATCHERS CLUB: Dreamcatchers Club has an info meeting before school at 8:00 AM on Thursday (9/19) in the forum. Come to learn more about what we do, how you can get volunteer hours, and enjoy some donuts! Contact Emi Ren at 2025rene68@moundsviewschools.org with any questions.
BOYS SOCCER: Cheer on the boys varsity soccer team as they travel to Cretin-Derham Hall (tickets) on Thursday (9/19) at 5:00 PM. Full schedule on the team page.
ROBOTICS TEAM: Join us at our regular meeting on Thursday (9/19) from 7:00-8:30 PM in room 139, to start exploring which specialty you'd like to pursue this year. Contact moundsviewrobotics@gmail.com, if you're interested but can't attend.
PSAT SIGN UP DEADLINE: The PSAT (Preliminary SAT) is Wednesday (10/9) or Thursday (10/17) at Mounds View High School. This assessment is also the qualifying exam for juniors hoping to receive a National Merit scholarship or award. Registration closes on Friday (9/20). Cost for the exam is $25.00. REGISTER HERE Registrations will be processed online using the SmartSchoolK12 payment system.

If you plan to attend a contest on campus this fall, winter or spring, be prepared and purchase your ticket (or pass for year) before you arrive. There are NO CASH SALES this year. ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION CLUB (EAC)
The Environmental Action Club is back, and with it comes three new committees. With the introduction of the School Recycling Committee, Public Announcement Committee, and Law Advocacy Committee, EAC aims to impact our communities in ways never before seen. If you are passionate about promoting sustainable living, uplifting our communities, or engaging in political lobbying, then look no further than the EAC! Our informational meeting is during ReFLECT on Wednesday (9/25) in Room 210. Schedule ahead in Student Support Time, or ask your teacher during ReFLECT and we will issue you a pass.
MOUNDS VIEW FENCING CLUB MEETING
Join us at Mounds View Fencing Club (MVFC) to experience the thrill of Olympic Fencing! Offered only at a couple schools and universities in Minnesota, MVFC is one of the few opportunities you’ll get to fight someone with a sword! We regularly go to statewide tournaments and even host an end of the year pizza party! Did we mention MVFC is student-ran? If you ever wanted to try sword fighting, now is the time!

WANTED: COMMITTEE REPS
The Mounds View Public Schools Curriculum Advisory Committee is seeking representatives to serve on the committee for the 2024-2025 school year. Committee members work in partnership with the district and community to gain knowledge and provide feedback about curriculum and other instructional issues. If you are interested in applying to be a part of the CAC, complete the Mounds View Curriculum Advisory Application. The application closes on Friday (10/4).
