Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of March 7, 2021
A Message From Our Principal
Greetings,
In just a little over a week, many students will return to school for the 4/1 model. This means that on Monday, March 22nd, all students will be virtual but on Tuesday, March 23rd, students who have chosen to be in person will begin 4 day in person learning each week. It is exciting to know we are moving forward with the plan to reopen our schools safely. While we will still be on an abbreviated day, we will continue to work toward the road forward.
Coming back or returning to in person learning means that students have chosen to be here so we need to reinforce a few things that are important for us to remain open:
Wearing both a mask and a face shield will be required at all times (face shields will be provided on your return to school March 23rd).
Keeping social distance at all times to the best of your ability.
All policies are expected to be followed each day you are in person at school. This includes, dressing appropriately, no hats or head coverings, use of passes, and our code of conduct, to name a few. Our hand book is on line if you would like to review it.
Driving privileges are for seniors only with approval and registration in Ms. Carugno’s office (Assistant Principal).
Lunches are "grab and go" as you leave the building and are available to all students as they exit the school.
Let us not forget, we are still in a pandemic but trying to make some adjustments for our students to be in school. Therefore, our social distancing, wearing masks and face shields, and washing hands frequently will certainly contribute to the school being open and moving towards more days in person. Teachers and staff are looking forward to having more students in the building.
For students who continue to remain fully virtual there will be one more opportunity to return to in-person learning this year. That will be in mid April when we start the fourth marking period. You will have to contact the school via email and request your return. Of course you may stay virtual for the remainder of the year if you choose to and at any point students that are in-person may opt to go fully virtual.
Until next week, stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone!
Ms.Connor

On February 16th, nine of our Egg Harbor Township Students began their journey towards unmanned aerial systems (drone) certification. As part of a partnership with Atlantic Cape Community College and the Perkins V centralized local needs assessment process, the college was able to offer students the opportunity to take the AVIT140 college course at no cost to our students. Students are pictured learning to navigate through flight patterns with the drones outside. The class culminates in early May and will offer the students the opportunity to complete the FAA Parts 107 certification test.

Happy International Women’s Day! We’re sharing an exhibit in our Media Center that was on display last March to celebrate the passage of the 19th Amendment. Hopefully our students will have a chance to visit it in the future and learn about the contributions of women in our electoral process.

BOYS WINTER TRACK AND FIELD
Polar Bear Meet vs Holy Spirit and Mainland High Schools @ EHTHS
The team finished off our short winter season on a beautiful day in Egg Harbor Township. The sun was shining and high school student-athletes were competing in our great sport of track and field. Before the meet, we were able to get a team picture taken, as well as a senior picture honoring our seniors who have gone through a lot this past year. These seniors are from Left to Right: Fernando Martinez, Ahmad Brock, Nico Valdivieso, Ethan Kenney, Michael Mirville, and Aidan Winkler.
We were also very thankful to have Mighty The Eagle out to cheer on the team!
The team will continue to practice until the end date of Winter Track and Field 3/27 and return for our Spring season on April 1st. We are hoping to go through full season (minus our weekend relay meets,) giving our student-athletes a chance to show the hard work and dedication over this last year.
