Time for Giving
Giving Tree
It's hard to believe that the December Holiday will be in less than one month. In the spirit of gratitude and community, students and visitors at Coelho Middle School will see our Coelho Giving Tree in the main entrance. The tree contains gift tags for items requested by a few families in our immediate community who have demonstrated an additional need for assistance this holiday season and accepted our support. We understand that current economic times have put a strain on everyone. If your means allow and you choose to do so, please take a tag indicating the donation needed and return the unwrapped item, with the tag, to the main office prior to December 16th.
If you are a family in need of assistance, and have not already spoken to Mrs. Weeman or Mrs. Mann, our adjustment counselors, please contact the school as soon as possible and ask to speak with them directly.
Grade 8 Parents and Students Only: Grade 8 Visit and Course Selection for AHS
Grade Eight Scheduling Information for 2025-26 School Year
AHS is about to begin the course request process for your freshman year at Attleboro High School. We have a number of events and activities planned.
Grade 8 students will be visiting AHS on 12/13/24. During this visit, students will hear a performance from the music department, receive a tour, and make course requests.
- Please review the Grade 9 Course Booklet (the complete program of studies is available on the AHS webpage).
- Between now and 12/13/24, please discuss course requests as a family.
- Many courses are required (e.g. English, math, science, social studies) but students will have some choices; they will make these choices when they visit AHS.
- As for honors requests: when students visit, they will be asked if they would be interested in taking an honors course if recommended. Concurrently, teachers will be offering their input. There are rigorous criteria for honors classes related to such data points as standardized test scores, attendance, and course performance. Those who do not meet the criteria will have a chance to apply/appeal.
Students: If you did not already complete THIS MANDATORY QUESTIONNAIRE, please do so now (it will take about one minute to complete). This form helps us place students into one of four houses at AHS. Students must be signed into their @attleborops.net accounts to complete the form. Thank you to the hundreds who have already responded!
