Welcome back from Spring Break!


I hope everyone had a restful and fun week off from school. As we move into the last part of our school year things tend to get a little action-packed so keep an eye out for field trip details, family events, concerts, and fundraisers as they come through. It's going to be a lot of fun and we're looking forward to seeing you there!

Fundraising Updates

Song-a-Thon

The Song-A-Thon fundraiser is raising funds for our Music Program :) Students will ask for pledges from friends, family and neighbors to see how many curated songs (or even albums!) they can listen to. We will also have a playlist competition, where students are invited to make their own mix tape, and the student body will vote on their favorites.

Dine-OUT on April 10th

Our PTO has arranged another wonderful local Dine-OUT night!!


Join us at Cafe Yumm! on April 10th for the world's most delicious rice bowls, bentos, skewers, and saucy sauce :) Cafe Yumm will donate 20% of their sales to Muddy Creek so get your Teriyaki Bowl or Tempeh Bento ordered and help us raise some money for Muddy Creek 🍚🍢🌯

✔️ Lots of Field trips coming up! Have you signed up to be a volunteer yet?

✔️ Please remember to call the office BEFORE 2pm if your child's go-home plan is different than normal. That includes if you are picking them up. Late calls can result in scrambling and sometime, kiddos in the wrong places.

✔️ Afterschool program is IN EFFECT. If you haven't already signed up, go check it out :)

Guest Musician

Thanks to Matt McClary for bringing in his instruments and sharing music with the students! He and his daughter hosted a musical demonstration for all grades so they could experience everything from brass to electric guitar!

Ecosystems in 5th Grade

The 5th graders have been exploring ecosystems, microrganism, decomposers, and lifecycle in science. And they recently considered the question "Why do you have to clean out a fishtank and not a pond?"

Busy 4th grade Bees

The 4th graders recently went on a field trip to a farm where they learned about pollinators, specifically bees. They have been learning about native and non-native bees and are planning to create some habitats for our school!

Kickball in PE

Miss Ginger recently started a Kickball unit in PE to help teach the students some more fun outdoor games. She has put a sportsmanship twist on the theme and is practicing skills, not keeping score. Way to go sporty Muskrats!

100 Days of School in 2nd Grade

The 2nd graders put on their imagination hats last month and wrote about what it will be like when they are 100 years old. Their writing and artwork are on display in the hallway and include a lot of details of their future families, pet, and mansions!

Chicken Coop & Garden

Big shout-out to Kalesh and all his garden helpers! The chicken coop is built and the hen house is almost all put together. Soon the Kinder and 1st grades will be incubating eggs and we'll have some MCCS hens before we know it!
