Dear Groveland Families,

I hope you are doing well and enjoying the summer months!

As we look forward to the upcoming, 2024-2025 school year, I would like to share our staffing plans. Please know we are in the process of hiring a 3rd and a 4th grade teacher. Teachers will be reaching out in August with welcome letters for their class.

• Kindergarten - Ms. Dean, Ms. Purcell and Mrs. Long (Extended Day Kindergarten)
• First Grade - Ms. Gammon, Mrs. Kranick, Mrs. Moran, Ms. Petras, and Mrs. Sulek
• Second Grade - Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. Neufer, Mrs. Mathews, Mrs. Rodgers and Mrs. Wells
• Third Grade - Mr. DeCandido, Ms. Katasak, Mrs. Manno, Mrs. Mitnik, Ms. Wunder, and a new teacher
• Fourth Grade - Mrs. Abert, Mrs. Keyes, Mrs. Paone, Ms. Tomanelli, and a new teacher
• Fifth Grade - Mrs. Bannon, Mrs. Daley, Ms. McCullion, Mrs. Moyer, and Mrs. Rantz
• Sixth Grade - Mrs. Guelzow, Ms. Lodwig, Mrs. McGovern, Mrs. O'Brien, and Mrs. Rybny

Our multi-lingual learners will continue to be supported by Ms. Hastings, Mrs. King, and a new teacher.

Our special education team includes Mrs. Beard, Ms. Cawley, Ms. Duca, Mrs. Dingui, Ms. Forst, Mrs. McMann, Mrs. Schwanbeck, Mrs. Stewart, Mrs. Thompson, and Ms. Webb. Our MDS special education team will also include Ms. Adkins, Mrs. Hennessy, and Ms. Saul.

• Physical Education - Mr. Reilly and Ms. Langlois

In 2024-2025, Mr. Alderfer, Ms. Wolf, and Ms. Bauer will continue to be our school counselors and psychologist. Ms. Freed, Ms. Griggs, and Ms. Miller will serve as speech therapists for our students. Our reading teachers, Mrs. Butler, Mrs. Palilonis, and Mrs. Prime will welcome Ms. Pfendner to their team. Mrs. Ordile will become the PEN teacher at Groveland in the fall, while Mrs. Fischer, Mrs. Killion, and Mrs. Moyer will continue working in our Health Office.

Just as in previous years, final class assignments will be announced on August 1st at 4:00PM via the Parent Portal.

Kindergarten Supply List

In the summer months, student placement is finalized. Considerable amount of time and attention is given to create well-balanced class groupings that consider the social, academic, and emotional needs of all students.

As you know, all of our teachers are caring, capable, and highly qualified educators. Our job is to support our students by developing confident, resourceful individuals.

Just as in previous years, final class assignments are announced in early August. On Thursday, August 1st, at 4:00PM the 2024-2025 class lists will be announced via the Parent Portal. We look forward to the excitement that a new school year brings!

In August, the Transportation tab in your Parent Portal Account will list your child(ren)'s bus number, as well as pick up/drop off times. If you have any questions, please contact the Transportation Department at 267-893-4000.

Your child may ride only the bus to which he/she has been assigned unless an Alternate Bus Stop Request has been approved. The Central Bucks Transportation Department may approve requests for childcare or shared custody situations. A form must be submitted every year.

Pennsylvania mandates the following health examinations:

• Physicals: School entry (Kindergarten), grades 6 and 11
• Dentals: School entry (Kindergarten), grades 3 and 7

Parents are urged to have physical and dental examinations completed by their family physician or dentist and submitted prior to October 15th of the year that they are due.

Your children have worked so hard this year in reading. We also know that children who read over the summer come back to school better prepared for the next school year. Reading is a skill, just like swinging a bat or doing the backstroke. It requires practice.

With that in mind, we have a fun way to help your child continue to read all summer long—Summer Reading Bingo! (See the bingo board below.)

Use the provided BINGO board to have some summer reading fun and earn an ice-cream treat! Parents sign the boxes and mark off a BINGO—vertical, horizontal, diagonal, or the entire board—it doesn’t matter! BINGO boards must be turned in by Friday, September 6th. We will celebrate with some ice-cream at a later announced date.
