Congratulations to Senior Daniel Fransen
We wanted to congratulate Nipmuc Senior, Daniel Fransen who just recently received notification that he will be moving forward to become a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship award! This is a phenomenal achievement. Of the 1.5 million students who participated in the PSAT, Daniel is now ranked among the top 15,000! The National Merit Scholarship Committee will recognize 7,250 of those students as award winners in the coming months. We wish him well in the last phase of this prestigious recognition process. Daniel will continue his education after Nipmuc at Cornell University.
In addition to sending congratulations to Daniel, we're also sending him the positive thoughts of the entire Nipmuc community. In November, Daniel was unexpectedly diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Over the course of the past few months, he has bravely fought through several rounds of chemotherapy. All of Nipmuc - especially the Class of 2023 - is looking forward to welcoming back to Nipmuc this spring in time to celebrate senior activities and graduation.

Art Club Sponsors a "WeAk Without Art"
Upon return from February break, teachers and students noticed an odd transformation in the halls of Nipmuc. For the following week (Feb 27 - March 3) the Nipmuc Art Club is sponsoring a "WeAk Without Art." This means that all framed artwork in the hallways has been taken down, and all eighty murals have been covered; just for this week.
The club's intent is to show that without the artwork gracing the halls, there is noticeable void, and that it's easy to take things for granted. They hope that it will generate a greater appreciation for the talent represented and a realization, when the art returns on Friday, of how fortunate we are to have so much artwork on display.
