Academic Honesty and Turnitin

Academic integrity is the pursuit of scholarly work in an open, honest, and responsible manner. Academic integrity is a basic guiding principle for all academic activity, and all members of the university community are expected to act in accordance with this principle. Academic integrity includes a commitment to engage in academic work that adheres to the highest standards of academic honesty. These standards include purposeful avoidance of plagiarism, cheating, misrepresentation, unauthorized collaboration, or any efforts at facilitating any academic deception. Such acts of dishonesty violate the fundamental and ethical principles of the community and compromise the worth of work completed by others. • Check with the professor(s) about their expectations for citing sources.
• Read (and re-read) the syllabus and assignment instructions carefully.
• Ask your professor for permission before you share your work.
• Plan ahead because procrastination and the lack of time leads to the temptation to cheat.
