We wanted to share a friendly reminder asking that students are at school on time each day and limit early dismissals for appointments and emergencies when possible. Our schedules are packed with instruction from 9:05 AM until 3:45 PM! Every minute matters. Being on time is essential not only to minimize classroom disruptions but also to support your child’s learning. Currently, we are averaging about 30 late arrivals per day.

Please reference the Red Clay calendar when planning vacation time. Regular attendance is crucial for academic success and helps students stay engaged with their classwork and activities. Of course, we understand that students need to be absent when they are sick. Please provide a doctor's note when applicable so we can formally excuse the absence.

Due to weather, last week's PTO meeting was rescheduled for this Tuesday, January 14th. We hope to see you at the next PTO meeting on Jan 14th. For those who can’t be there in person a zoom link will be provided.

Save the Date: We will be building the garden bed and completing the first round of planting during the week of April 16th. We are seeking parent volunteers to assist with the garden build. If you are interested in helping, please contact Mr. Cohen, 5th-grade teacher. jason.cohen@redclay.k12.de.us

The State of Delaware conducts state testing starting in Grade 3. We are providing the dates so that you can plan ahead to ensure that your child is in school on these dates.

• English Language Arts: 5/6, 5/8
• Math: 5/13,5/15
• Science: 5/19
• Social Studies: 2/12 (economics), 5/16 (geography)

We are now accepting application for Spanish Immersion! If you know an incoming kindergartener that may be interested please be sure to give them our information! Tours are being scheduled now.

Last week, we held an assembly to review and reinforce what it means to be 'Respectful, Ready, and Responsible' in 2025. Go Marbrook Dolphins!

As a reminder, we have school-wide celebrations at the end of each marking period. To participate, students must not receive two or more referrals and/or a suspension. If they do, they’ll have the opportunity to work toward earning it again in the next marking period.

Our students are especially excited about earning a glow party at the end of this month!

In keeping with our wellness initiatives and the district’s commitment to providing a safe learning environment for all students and students with food allergies, please do not send in food items such as cupcakes and/or cookies. Birthdays will be acknowledged during morning announcements and students will receive a sticker and a cupcake eraser from the principal.
