Dear Ridgeview United Families,

We have had another fantastic week at RCMS. Students are getting used to everyday routines and processes, building relationships and participating in fall sports tryouts. I am pleased to report that, after conducting a seat count, we now have 961 RCMS students. This exceeds the 913 forecast provided to us in the spring of 2024. Based on this student count, our staffing numbers will remain the same. We are glad to see that so many families have confidence in our school and are entrusting us with the education of their children.

We are also looking forward to celebrating our RCMS honor roll students from spring semester 2023-2024 with a "Pop-In" celebration tomorrow, August 16th, during school. Keep up the great work students- we are excited to celebrate you!

Locker Requirement Update: Students have begun using their lockers and mastering their combination locks. During the day, backpacks (and phones) will be stored in the locker. Students will be permitted regular access to their lockers each day. We believe this change will help reduce congestion in our hallways and ensure that our classrooms are distraction free. All families are asked to pay the annual locker fee using this link to the OSP payment site.

We would like to inform you about the 504 process for the upcoming school year at Ridgeview. Below is an outline of the key procedures:

1. Review of Current 504 Plans: All existing 504 plans will undergo a comprehensive review by the end of the first semester.

2. Teacher Participation: Each 504 meeting will include the attendance of two content teachers. Additionally, all teachers who work with the student are required to complete the Teacher Input Form via Infinite Campus.

3. Outlook Calendar Invitations: You will receive an Outlook Calendar invitation for the meeting. Kindly review the invitation promptly and check for any scheduling conflicts. If you encounter a conflict, please notify us immediately so that we can arrange for an alternative teacher to attend.

4. Invitation Timeline: Invitations will be dispatched by the end of August.

September 27th: Foundation Parent Party & Auction

RCMS Foundation: Volleyball, softball and soccer are just a few of the many sports funded by our RCMS Foundation. Without that support, the majority of our teams and programs would not be possible. Thank you Foundation Members!

Thank you to the MANY student and parent volunteers who gave their time this week to pack, label and distribute laptops and to serve up some smiles during donut sales. We DONUT know what we would do without you!

Thanks to all of you that have already joined the RCMS PTA! We appreciate your support. If you have not yet joined, please join now! The RCMS PTA offers a vital connection between the teachers, parents, and students. We need your support to enhance the classroom experience for your child, provide support systems for the teachers, and celebrate the diversity of our RCMS community. Don’t forget our first general PTA meeting is on August 20, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in the media center. We thank you for your support and hope to see you there!

Our music students are headed to Universal Studios Orlando! If you are interested in sending your 7th or 8th Grade music student (Band, Chorus or Orchestra) on this trip, please attend one of the Parent Interest Meetings.

This meeting is for ALL parents. Did you know that, because we are a Title 1 school, we receive extra funding and support? Learn about how we use those resources and our goals for the school year at our Title 1 Night.

Our Parent Party is coming up on September 27th and tickets are already selling quickly. Capacity is limited, so please buy your tickets today if you would like to come to this fun event! You can purchase tickets here. If you have an auction item to contribute, please fill out this form!

The Panther Store is the ultimate destination where Panther Pride comes to life. Throughout the school year, you can purchase uniform shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and other Panther merchandise. Our store is conveniently located inside the school near the gym. We are open every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30-9:00 AM for students and guardians to buy items or pick up online orders.

To help with the start-of-school rush, the Panther Store will open every day from August 5th - 16th, 8:30- 9:00 AM. Click here to shop today!

Returns & Exchanges: Items can be exchanged or returned at the Panther Store during store hours. Items will only be accepted for a return or exchange if they have not been worn or washed and still have the garment tag on them.
