The following assessments will be coming up in the second semester. Students who will take these assessments will receive further information and details from Mrs. Murphy, SWHS testing coordinator.

• WorkKeys (Any senior completer not tested in November and 3-year Early Grad Juniors) - February 10-14
• ACCESS (Required for ESL students) - February 18-24
• ACT (Required for ALL 11th graders) - March 11-14

This past weekend three musicians displayed their talents in orchestra and band. Freshamn Tapanga Ashford performed with the 9/10 All-District Band at ECU and Freshmen Kierstyn Ashley and Alyssandra Ybarra performed with the All-County Orshestra at Jacksonville High School. Thank you to Mr. Barton and Mrs. Hanna for nurturing musicianship for our students!

Statements for student fees have been sent home with students. Students can check with Ms. Jones, the Media Specialist, to find out if they owe fees for items like laptops, lost books and fees to other schools. Please feel free to contact the front office for any questions regarding student fees.

Students attending the Senior Trip balance for the trip is due February 15th.

We have a few seats left for any senior who would like to attend and is eligible to attend. These seats are on a first come first serve basis. Any questions please contact Mrs. Jaimie Hall jaimie.hall@onslow.k12.nc.us.

Seniors please return your senior contract to Mrs. Jarman or Mrs. Hall ASAP. If you need another copy of the senior contract ask Mrs. Jarman or Mrs. Hall.

Congratulations to the men's and women's wrestling teams for their accomplishments of being conference champions! Adriana Miller was selected as Conference Female Wrestler of the Year and Coach Ringley was selected as Conference Women's Coach of the Year. We are proud of all of the wrestling team!

Congratulations to the JV boys and varsity men and women basketball teams for their wins over North Lenoir on Tuesday night! Senior Rue Chapman was honored on Tuesday night for accomplishing the milestone of 1,000 career points. Congratulations, Rue! The men's varsity team also gained a win against East Duplin on Thursday. Way to go, Stallions! The basketball teams will be home against South Lenoir on Tuesday, February 4 and away at Wallace Rose-Hill on Thursday, February 6.

The College of Education at East Carolina University has a lot of information for incoming undergrads, as well as graduate students, about the pathways to becoming a teacher.
