SCSD's Tina Adams Wins MOASBO Award
We're thrilled to announce that Tina Adams, the Business Coordinator for the City of St. Charles School District, has been named this year's Support Staff Member of the Year by the Missouri Association of School Business Officials (MoASBO)! Tina's dedication, collaboration, and outstanding contributions to her district and community have earned her this well-deserved recognition.

Celebrating Success: SCHS Senior Students Achieve Missouri Seal of Biliteracy!
We are thrilled to announce and extend our heartfelt congratulations to the 11 outstanding senior students of St. Charles High School who have achieved the prestigious Missouri Seal of Biliteracy! This remarkable accomplishment showcases their dedication, hard work, and commitment to mastering multiple languages as they journey towards graduation.
The Missouri Seal of Biliteracy recognizes students who have attained proficiency in English and at least one other language, providing them with a valuable credential that opens doors to opportunities both locally and globally. These students have not only demonstrated linguistic proficiency but have also embraced cultural diversity and enriched our school community through their unique perspectives and experiences.
As they prepare to embark on the next chapter of their lives, whether it be pursuing higher education, entering the workforce, or exploring other pathways, we have every confidence that these exceptional individuals will continue to excel and make a positive impact wherever they go.

Pickle Project Comes to Monroe Elementary
Chartwells mobile kitchen has made their presence known in a strong way. For the last 2 weeks, classes have been rotating through learning about the Pickling Process. While the smell may keep some away we’ve been so impressed by our Mustangs bravery as they were challenged to taste some pickled fruits and vegetables. While most were familiar with the baby dills, many had never had olives and even the teachers were surprised by the pickled cauliflower and peaches Chartwells provided!
Students learned that the pickling process was first discovered when trying to preserve food prior to access to refrigeration. All it takes is some vinegar, salt, and sugar and you can just about pickle anything! Students even learned about pickled pigs feet and Kindergartener Max incredulously asked, “why does that even exist?!” This teacher’s favorite was the spicy pickled cauliflower while the peach, pickled in Apple Cider Vinegar with cinnamon, was very intriguing.
After the taste test, students got to make their own pickled carrots to take home and share with their families! This alternative learning activity provided a much needed break for our students who have been diligently taking their iReady and MAP tests! Chartwells also told us they have a Brownie making experience and all the kids shouted, “yes please!” We love our school partnership with Chartwells and encourage other schools to take advantage of this amazing opportunity for their students!
