Unpredictable Weather
We know it can be tricky to convince teenagers to dress for the weather, but we ask that you please remind your children that spring weather in Alberta can be very unpredictable and outdoor recess does remain in effect.
Parking Reminder
Please use our North parking lot when parking and exiting vehicles. This is especially important on game nights when we have an abundance of visitors parking near the school. In an effort to show kindness to our community, we are asking our school community to please be considerate of our neighbours across the street and leave that parking for residents only.

If you need to reach our office for any reason, please contact our main line at 403-406-7365. This is also the number to call should you need to call in your child's attendance. This number is always available on our website.

Highlights of the Week
Congratulations SLR Vocal Soul!
We’d like to extend a huge congratulations to our fantastic choir, SLR Vocal Soul. This small but mighty group of students sang beautifully at the Red Deer Performing Arts Festival on Monday morning. The adjudicator and audience were wowed but their vocal maturity and musical preparation. This group has also just received word that they have been recommended to this year’s Provincial Music Festival that will happen in Edmonton later this May based on their excellent performance on Monday. What an incredible accomplishment, we are so proud of you!
Gold Eagle Ticket Winners!
These incredible students have been recognized for consistently demonstrating outstanding character traits such as compassion, kindness, respect, leadership, and courage. Their positive actions and attitudes help create a stronger, more supportive school community. Let’s give a big shoutout to these role models who are making a difference every day — keep soaring, Golden Eagles!
Constable Bond visits Foundations!
Our Foundations class had a blast with Constable Bond on Wednesday! The kids got an up-close look at the police car in action and even witnessed a very willing “arrest” of our fearless leader, Mr. Coumont. To top it off, Ms. Katie and Mrs. Emily got handcuffed together—don’t worry, we’re still friends (and slightly more coordinated now). We extend a huge thanks to Constable Bond for bringing safety, learning, and a whole lot of laughter to our day!

Board of Trustees Engagement Session
The Board of Trustees invites all staff, parents, and community members to participate in upcoming Stakeholder Engagement Sessions next month. These sessions will focus on gathering feedback to inform the 2025-2026 school division budget. Key themes for discussion, identified in November 2024, include mental health support, special needs resources, staffing concerns, transportation costs, and holistic student well-being. Sessions will be held online on April 15th and in person at St. Thomas Aquinas Middle School on April 16th, both from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
Participants will be asked to consider the impact of recent provincial budget announcements and discuss how to prioritize resources for quality faith-based education and student needs. They will also explore innovative community-driven solutions to support student success amid potential resource constraints. The Board values this input to guide budgetary priorities and ensure the best possible learning environment for all students.
Click here to register for either the Online Session on Tuesday, April 15 or the In-Person Session on Wednesday, April 16. Choose which session you are planning on attending at the checkout. If you will be attending the online session, an email with the Zoom link will be sent to you approximately 24 hours prior to the event.
