WMHS Weekly Information
October 21-25
From the Principal's Desk
Zebra Nation,
As the weather begins to change and the temperature drops, our scholars will 'bundle up' to stay warm each day. Please note, that our policy of no hoods on heads and no full face coverings inside WMHS is still on.... The WMHS Administrative Team needs to be able to identify everyone inside the building at all times. This is for the safety of the building (staff, students, and guests). Parents/Guardians - please speak to your scholar about this policy. For the scholars that continuously break this policy where we are repeat asking them to remove a face covering and/or take the hood off their head, they will be placed in our ISS room and then progress to an OSS from school. Again, this is for the safety of the WMHS Building.
#StrongerTogether
Bathroom issues - recently, we have had another uptick with bathrooms issues at WMHS with graffiti on the walls, toilets and sinks getting broken, handles on faucets getting broken, and vaping. Please speak to your scholar about this: 1.) To not take part in those things, and/or 2.) Report it to an adult if they see anything like that happening in the bathroom, so that we can take action.

Cool Classrooms
Physics students are completing an engineering and design project this week to to solve a real world problem - how can you get water from a well with no electricity and minimal supplies? They are building a functional model of a windmill that is capable of lifting a cup of marbles from the floor to the table top when the project is placed in front of a fan. It's a fabulous way for students to illustrate how energy changes form but is conserved.
