LMS Blue Jays!
I hope that everyone is having a great week.
8th-grade families, please be sure to read the information below about our college visits. Our students will be visiting local colleges and universities on October 10th. Permission slips will be sent home soon.
I wanted to remind everyone that students will bring home their iReady and 2024 MAP results tomorrow, Friday, September 20th. Students who scored two grade levels or more below their current grade level in iReady reading will qualify for a Reading Success Plan. This is a mandate from the state of Missouri. These plans will include specific interventions that will take place during advisory, certain hours of the school day, and independently at home. We will connect with families to review specific plans.
Our PTSA Color Splash form deadline is today. This is the last day students can turn in a form and receive a t-shirt. We will place our order this afternoon. They do not allow any late orders for t-shirts. The PTSA Color Splash is always a fun event!
Be sure to scroll down to see all of the activities we have coming up.

Attention 8th Grade Parents
Our 8th grade students will be attending college visits on October 10th. Every 8th grader will be attending a college visit on this date. We will also have career center visits for a select group of students who request to attend on November 8th and November 15th. These visits provide our students with an overview of a college or career center experience by allowing them to tour the campus/career center of their choosing, meet with students and staff, and learn more about the programs each college/career center offers. When making appointments for your students, please remember kids will be out of the building on these dates.
The counselors went into classrooms to talk to the kids about the schools they will be visiting. Kids will be randomly assigned, but took a survey to indicate if they prefer a 4-year or 2-year university. They also let us know if they want to attend a career center visit. The presentation is attached. If you click on the pictures of the career center slides there are videos attached.
