I have been so impressed with our students and staff these first two weeks of school. The procedures and expectations have been put in place but more importantly relationships are being built that will carry us through the year. Next week is our first 5 day week and I can hardly wait to see what the students and staff will be learning!

Homework Club, a place to work on and get assistance with homework will be starting up on Tuesday, September 13th. Homework Club takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:15-5:15 in the library and is open to all students in 5th-8th grade. This year staff and students (National Junior Honor Society members) will be available to provide assistance. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

This may seem like a strange question, but I'd love to hear some feedback about how we're doing at the Intermediate School so far this year. Next week we'll be having some Family Information Nights by grade level as well as a Principals' Chat. If you have topics to discuss and would like to meet with me in person, please don't hesitate to call or email me to set up a time to meet.

We had a great turnout for our first PTO meeting of the year on Wednesday. The PTO does so many great things for our students and staff every year and they are always looking for ways to do more. Here are the notes from the meeting.

Today is the final day to sign up! Interested 7th and 8th grade girls must return:

1) Parent and Student Athletic Handbook/Concussion Agreement form and

2) Athletic Fee Form and Payment

Interested 5th and 6th grade girls who want to play AMSAC basketball need to sign up on-line through the MAA website. Your deadline is also today.

*Boys basketball occurs after Winter Break.

Do you love math, live for challenges and enjoy learning new ways to solve problems? Join MATHCOUNTS on Wednesdays from 4-5 p.m. Practices begin on September 21st and run through February in preparation for the MATHCOUNTS competition. 5th graders are welcome to join but cannot compete.
