Weekly Good News

The Wayland Union Orchestra program recently held an informational meeting, and enjoyed some friendly competition at their first annual Chili Cook Off! Students were amazing with setup and tear down, and enjoyed a large spread of fall themed items, while sampling over 20 chili entries! The event had an amazing turn out! Mr. Hosler wants to thank all the students and parents for coming out to support the Wayland Orchestra!

Mrs. Foster's 6th grade science class completed their first lab of the school year! The lab was about how water moves and taught students how to use different lab equipment correctly. Labs are always so much fun!

Tuesday, September 17th was Constitution Day! Students in Ms. Hurni's 1st grade class learned about the U.S. Constitution and then had the opportunity to sign their own.

On Thursday, September 19th, Wayland High School News Team members Landon Harris and Dominick Kramer were invited by the WGVU Student Reporting Labs (SRL) to cover the Grand Valley Blue Dot event; a technology and computing exhibition aimed at fostering support for Grand Valley University's new College of Computing. The event provided the opportunity for the News Team to interview both university and local leaders on the growing technological ecosystem that Grand Valley is building at the Eberhard Center, on the Pew Campus in Grand Rapids. Landon and Dominick were highly praised for their professionalism and insightful questions. Great Job News Team!
