Curriculum & Instruction
Art
In Mr. Chen's 4th quarter art class students were learning to create portrait sketches, with an emphasis on features such as a hairline and noses.
Home & Careers
Students in Ms. Steinberg's Home and Careers class worked on learning both the straight stitch and overcasting stitch to create their pillows.
Technology Claymation Project
In Technology class, students work on a claymation project.
Analyzing Data

Whiffle Ball
In PE, Mr. Tallevi models the rules of Whiffle Ball.
The Outsiders
8th grade students kick back with popcorn and a special screening of The Outsiders, bringing the novel to life after reading and discussing it in class.
Extra Curriculars & Adventures at Barr
Stringfest
Under the direction of Nirkut Lucksom and Melanie Sadoff students performed a stirring orchestral piece at StringFest, celebrating their musical talent and dedication.
Homeroom Ambassadors in Action: Garden Clean-Up Day
Homeroom ambassadors lend a hand in beautifying their cafeteria garden by planting flowers and seeds, using supplies generously donated by the PTA and local families as part of a community volunteer effort.
Cultural Fair
Kerry Taylor and the RED Club hosted a Cultural Fair after school. Over 60 students shared their heritage through vibrant performances and delicious traditional dishes at the school’s cultural celebration event.

Did you know the Food Service Department has served 175, 506 lunch meals and 71,442 breakfast meals district wide this year. This Friday, May 2, 2025 is National School Lunch Hero Day. Please take one minute to thank our Lunch Heroes for serving you with a delicious, nutritious meal.
Read Aloud
Dana DeVita, Any Alcantara and Lauren Domitrovits planned an amazing event that brought together staff and community members for the 28th Annual Read Aloud. Readers shared their love of books and storytelling with students across all grade levels.
Community Events & Outreach
Maureen Dougherty and Lauren Domitrovits with over 1,000 water bottles collected by grade 5 students in less than a week for their recycling project which is part of their new literacy unit.
