Family Literacy Night - May 15, from 6pm to 7:15pm
Get everyone in their pajamas and visit Lower Campus to eat dinner and enjoy a night celebrating literacy!
Caregivers will start the evening with a live webinar with our guest speaker, Dr. Tricia Zucker, author of Strive-For-Five Conversations: A Framework That Gets Kids Talking to Accelerate Their Language Comprehension and Literacy.
While caregivers attend the webinar in the Village Plaza, children will participate in an interactive Read Aloud and activities with a teacher volunteer in classrooms.
After the webinar, caregivers will join their children for food and storytelling fun!
Please complete this form to RSVP by Friday, May 9.
Library
Checkout is officially closed for the school year. Thank you for making this year in the library so much fun! All outstanding library books must be returned by the last day of school, May 29. If you have received any overdue notices and are unsure where your students' book(s) might be, here are a few places books like to hide:
Their backpack
The student’s classrooms
Their bedroom, including toy boxes, and under the mattress
In sofas and family bookshelves
In the car, including under seats and in pouches
At friends’ and relatives’ houses
At any clubs the student attends, such as Boys and Girls Club or YMCA
The public library, as sometimes school library books are returned there by mistake
If you have any questions, please email Ms. Stowe.

New campus painted in GLOBE colors
Construction teams continue to make great progress, with painting crews currently working on the exterior. We are pleased to include a selection of images taken this week. Please keep sending in your questions here regarding the new campus and we will endeavor to address the vast majority of them in this weekly newsletter. To view the most recent email update regarding the move to the new campus, click here.
Latest Q&A's regarding the new campus:
If the new start time is 8:30am, then when is the earliest time families can drop-off? And when would before-care start and normal drop-off begin?
The Director of ECP and Director of Operations are working to make sure parents have all this information before the school closes for summer break.
Will there be athletic teams for students to compete against other elementary schools?
DeKalb County Schools have formed an athletic league for 4th and 5th grade students. We are looking into being a part of that league, but do not know if it will be feasible for 2025-26. We will keep you posted as we gain more information.
What factors will dictate whether the school will choose to operate a shuttle to transport students between campuses?
We would love to offer a shuttle between the campuses. We will not know how and when that will work until we get the new 2025–26 school year started.
What specific equipment and play spaces will the students have available outside for recess and before/after care?
We will not offer outside time for before-care, but there will be outside time in the after-care part of ECP. There will be green space as well as climbing and play equipment similar to that currently in place at Lower Campus.
