"You're off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So...get on your way!"
- Dr. Seuss, Oh, the Places You'll Go
From the Principal
It’s hard to believe we are wrapping up another school year! It has truly been a great year at BES, and we are so grateful for your continued support. Your involvement has played a vital role in making this year a success. Our students and teachers have worked incredibly hard, and I know everyone is looking forward to a well-deserved summer break.
To our upcoming 6th graders: we wish you all the best as you begin your middle and high school journey. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things you will accomplish. For our rising 4th and 5th graders, have a wonderful summer—I look forward to welcoming you back in the fall!
As we close out the year, I want to take a moment to honor Ms. Ann Jackson, our dedicated fourth-grade ELA teacher, who will be retiring at the end of this school year. Ms. Jackson joined BES two years ago after relocating to our community, and her impact has been deeply felt. We wish her all the best in retirement—may it be filled with rest, joy, and new adventures. BES will certainly miss her!
May is also a time to celebrate our incredible teachers. The educators at BES give their all each day and play an essential role in shaping the future. Teaching is a challenging, yet profoundly rewarding profession, and I am continually inspired by their passion and commitment. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to thank your child’s teacher for the difference they’ve made. I personally carry gratitude for the teachers who helped shape me into who I am today. Teachers truly rock!
As we approach the end of the year, we currently have over $5,100 in cafeteria debt. Please help us reduce this balance. For any questions or to arrange a payment plan, feel free to contact Ms. Jenny, our cafeteria manager, at (706) 866-9183 or jhastick.bat@catoosa.k12.ga.us.
Finally, on a personal note, thank you for entrusting us with your most prized possessions—your children. We are so fortunate to share in their growth and development during their time at BES. It is a joy to watch them mature and thrive over the years.
Wishing everyone a safe, restful, and joy-filled summer. Enjoy time with your loved ones, and we look forward to seeing you again in August!
We Are Battlefield.

What we share online can have a lasting impact, and it’s essential that we use our voices in a positive and respectful way. To support this conversation, CCPS has created a series of informative videos for all parents and students in our school system. We encourage you to watch them and help promote a culture of kindness and accountability online.
