Texas Education Code 28.004 and House Bill 1525
In accordance with Texas Education Code 28.004 and House Bill 1525, 6th - 8th grade students will receive instruction on the required health Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) specific to human growth and development. All lessons are aligned with the TEKS and meet the requirements that are mandated by the state.
Texas law states that parents/guardians must provide written consent for their 6th - 8th grade student(s) to participate
in lessons covering human growth and development.
On Monday, February 3, 2025, parents/guardians of students enrolled junior high physical education, or athletics will receive detailed information via email regarding viewing the associated lessons and the process for recording their decision for their student to participate in the lessons.
Outlined below are the timeframes for the parent consent process and the scheduled instructional periods:
Parent Consent Window: February 3rd – March 7th
Instruction Window: April 7th – May 22nd
Jordan Legacies Try Out Information
Next year, the Jordan Legacies will be allowing 9th graders to be a part of their varsity team. This will mean that 8th graders can participate in the audition process this spring. JV tryout information will be released at a later date.

Responsible Use Guidelines
This is a reminder that chrome books are intended for school use only. Any student who attempts to circumvent the established digital safeguards or uses their chrome book in a manner not directed by their teacher will be violating the responsible use guidelines and will receive discipline consequences starting at a 1-hour detention in compliance with the Katy ISD Discipline Management Plan and Student Code of Conduct.
Student ID Procedures:
Secondary students must wear their ID badges at all times during school hours, while on school property. If a student loses the ID, a replacement must be purchased promptly from the designated school office/location. Students must have their ID visible and ready to go at the start of 1st period. If, for any reason, a student does not have their ID with them in the morning, they will be required to purchase a new ID. Parents will receive an email with a Pay N Go link to conveniently pay $3.00 for the replacement ID. Failure to follow these procedures may be considered a violation of the Discipline Management Plan and Student Code of Conduct. The drop off of ID's will not be accepted at the front office after 8:55.

Volunteer Information
Katy ISD requires all volunteers serving on or off-campus during or after the instructional day to register with the district through its Raptor security system.
Once registered and approved, individual volunteers can:
• Sign up as a campus volunteer by completing the volunteer recruitment form provided by your campus organization(s) or contact your campus volunteer coordinator.
• Track hours via their volunteer profile for every Katy ISD campus at which they volunteer
• The system also provides quick and easy submission of individual off-campus volunteer hours
Deliveries
Parents may only deliver food for their own student.
Deliveries from parents to students may be dropped off on the shelf outside the front office.
Students are responsible for retrieving their items off the shelf during passing periods or lunch.
We cannot interrupt instructional time to notify students of deliveries.
Students may not have food delivered from outside entities such as Domino’s, Door Dash, Uber Eats, etc.
No large quantities or party trays accepted.
Cash and electronics cannot be dropped off.
