Universal Children’s Day
Yesterday we celebrated Universal Children’s Day and the vast array of colourful cultural clothing and delicious food reflected the rich tapestry of our diverse multicultural community. What a fantastic opportunity this occasion represents to celebrate and to share with others, our different heritages and backgrounds. Thank you to our families for supporting this very special day in our school.
Swimming
For the next two weeks our children are attending swimming lessons. Swimming is such an important skill to acquire and we proudly offer this opportunity to our students to ensure that they increase their levels of competence and safety around water.
Remembrance Day
On Monday we will hold our Remembrance Day service at 8.50am in the undercover area. Families are welcome to attend this service where we remember and honour those who have died in the line of duty.
Staff
Today we wish Ms Ryan all the very best as she starts her maternity leave. We are all looking forward to meeting Baby Ryan.
This week we welcomed Mr Antonio Muto to our school. Mr Muto will be taking on the role of Assistant Principal in Ms Ryan's absence. We know you will all make him feel most welcome to this beautiful school community.
Advent
This year Advent starts on the 1 December. Advent is a time when we prepare for the celebration of the birth of Jesus. We celebrate Advent with the lighting of the first Advent candle, which is a purple candle known as the candle of hope or the prophecy candle because of the hope we have in God and the foretelling of the birth of Christ by the prophet Isaiah.
