Fordham Family Times

Hello, I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself and tell you how honored I am to be named Fordham’s non-instructional "Person of the Year" for this school year. My name is Mary Perry and I've been working in the school system since 2015. I have worked in several schools in Sumter and Marion counties. This year, I became a food service manager at Fordham Early Learning Academy. I have an amazing staff that helps me do my job efficiently. We enjoy serving the staff and especially the children at our school. I look forward to coming to work and doing my job. I am blessed to have the love and support of my husband of 18 years and our 15-year-old daughter. Fordham is my second family, and I'm blessed to be working here. I'll end by saying, thank you for the recognition, I am truly honored.

We invite families interested in Fordham to schedule a tour in January and apply for enrollment through the school choice website. Current VPK students at Fordham must apply for enrollment for Kindergarten. (This is a change from last year.) Current Fordham students in Kindergarten and 1st grade DO NOT need to reapply. The application window will close on January 31, 2025. Families will be notified after that date.

Pre-K 3 and VPK families interested in Fordham will apply once that application window opens at the end of February. Our Pre-K 3 program is a fee-based program.

Current Fordham students in Kindergarten and 1st grade will automatically roll to the next grade level at Fordham for the 25-26 school year with a completed Intent Form. Those intent forms will be sent home the first week in January.

The videos below provide a quick review of how to pronounce sounds when practicing reading. When children are learning to read, they need to blend sounds as they decode. Teachers, parents, and caregivers need to ensure that the sounds they are modeling can be blended. We hope you enjoy the resources.
