THE STRENGTH OF THE WOLF IS ITS PACK

Wasco Weekly
January 31, 2025
Dear Families,
A big thank you to our PTO for the Someone Special Snow Ball! The winter dance was lovely. What makes these school events so special is the way they bring our families together, creating moments of joy and connection.
Seeing children interact outside their usual friend groups, dress up with excitement, and share precious moments with their "special someone" is truly heartwarming. These experiences of connection and community are invaluable, and I am thankful for a caring and hardworking PTO who make these social events possible.
Kind regards,
Mrs. Brennan

News from P.E.
We are having warmer days so students are playing on the fields during recess. They are wearing the same tennis shoes to PE resulting in very muddy gym floors creating a mess during activities. Please send an extra pair of tennis shoes to school to be kept in student cubbies. Many students are also reporting their "gym shoes" are too small so they no longer wear them.

Parent Teacher Conferences
On Thursday, February 27th, all elementary students in D303 will have a half-day of school due to our Spring parent-teacher conferences. These conferences serve a different purpose than our Fall goal-setting conferences. Spring conferences provide teachers the opportunity to connect with families of students to discuss progress towards goals and areas for growth. The February 27 conferences have a much shorter time frame of 1:15-3:35. This means that teachers will only be able to meet with a few families that afternoon. Your child’s teacher will be sending a letter home with either a request to meet or a message stating that a conference is not necessary at this time.
Due to the 12:00 dismissal, students will not have lunch at school that day. All classrooms will take a snack break at some point in the morning.
Nurse Update
Families,
Unfortunately, our school nurse has resigned. Until the replacement nurse is on board, the D303 nursing team will be supporting Wasco students. Any correspondence can be forwarded directly to our front office or you can use the following email address: was-nurses@d303.org

District 303 Partners With GPS Parent Series
District 303 is proud to partner with the Glenbard Parent Series (GPS) to offer our families broader access to information sessions and resources that support their child’s development.
For decades, GPS has been offering free programs that aim to empower and strengthen families, individuals and communities. As a partner organization, District 303 will support promoting upcoming programs and their importance to our local community.

Wasco Parking Lot Guide 24-25
The map below displays how Wasco organizes dismissal for car riders. We will be directing students to wait on our “front lawn” for their ride. If they see their families' vehicles, they can walk along the sidewalk and enter the stopped vehicle. If you would like to leave your car to pick up your child, you are free to park in the lot.
You can save this as a handy reference for your caregivers or visiting family members who do pick up as well!
