Principals' Peek at the Week
Saints Joseph and John School - March 20, 2025
DEAR SAINTS JOSEPH AND JOHN SCHOOL FAMILIES,
This week, our students had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate St. Joseph’s Feast Day, a meaningful occasion for our school community. We gathered in church to pray the “Josary,” a special devotion honoring St. Joseph, reflecting on his unwavering faith, humility, and dedication to God’s will. It was a beautiful moment of prayer and unity, reminding us of the virtues we strive to live out each day.
As we honor St. Joseph, we also look ahead with excitement to celebrating St. John Neumann next year during Catholic Schools Week. St. John Neumann’s commitment to education and service continues to inspire us as we nurture both the minds and hearts of our students. These celebrations offer valuable opportunities for our school community to deepen our faith, appreciate our Catholic identity, and come together in prayer and fellowship.
May this Lenten season continue to inspire us all to walk in faith and compassion, and recognize the presence of Christ in one another.
Lenten Blessings,
Mrs. Schenek and Mrs. Francis
SJJ VIKINGS IN ACTION
Mrs. Tortorici’s class visited the Holy Family statue in honor of Saint Joseph’s Day. The class colored a Saint Joseph Prayer, and wrote about how the students can be good helpers like Saint Joseph was to God.
Mrs. Miller's and Mrs. Cary's 8th grade reading classes participated in a virtual author's visit this week. The students had the opportunity to view a presentation from Alan Gratz, a New York Times bestselling author, who has written twenty novels for young adult readers. He talked to the students about the inspiration behind some of his biggest books and answered questions live from students across the United States. The students read his most popular novel, Refugee, earlier this year.
