The Inspire Award
Congratulations to Samantha Burkus and Ian Bradford for earning the Inspire Award. The Inspire Award is based on Trojans who demonstrate exemplary leadership. Leadership embodies mindsets, behaviors and skills to succeed in school and beyond.
Samantha demonstrates exemplary leadership everyday. She follows and models all classroom rules and school expectations. She is always asking to help the teacher or other students in need. Samantha’s eagerness to learn and learn from her mistakes shows she has a strong understanding for what needs to be accomplished. She is a great friend to all and to her classmates, modeling hard work, kindness and support.
Ian consistently follows rules and expectations in and out of the classroom, setting a positive example for his peers. His ability to make good choices, helps him to excel academically and contributes to a supportive learning environment.

The Engage Award
Congratulations to Elijah Jones for earning the Engage Award. The Engage Award is based on Trojans who demonstrate exemplary behaviors. Behavior embodies mindfully using your unique talents to respectfully connect to the school and community.
Elijah is receiving the Engage Award for consistently demonstrating positive behavior on a daily basis. He goes above and beyond to help out his classmates and always has a positive attitude in class. Elijah works hard and does his personal best, even when things seem challenging.

The Empower Award
Congratulations to Mina Yamamoto for earning the Empower Award. The Empower Award is based on Trojans who demonstrate exemplary growth/achievement. Growth and achievement as demonstrated by resilience and excellence in the pursuit of academic success.
Mina demonstrates exemplary growth/achievement on a daily basis. She began her school journey this year without knowing anyone and with no knowledge of English. She has formed numerous friendships and is now reading and writing in english, as well as successfully earning all 4 first grade math gumballs for addition and subtraction. Her self-confidence has grown, and she is beginning to engage in classroom discussions.
A+ Attendance Award
Last week, 84% of our students had perfect attendance. Congratulations to these 4 students for being drawn as our A+ Attendance winners (from left to right) Emmett Specht, Ren Keller, Rhys Johnson, and Avian Rodriguez

IREAD Testing Next Week
Parents,
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday next week our 2nd graders and some of our 3rd graders will be taking IREAD, an Indiana State Assessment. We want our students to feel prepared and confident as they do their best on this important test. To help them succeed, please ensure they get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive to school on time.

A Message From Nurse Jenna: Tissue Donations Needed
Cold and flu season is in full swing, and our school is running low on tissues! If you’re able to donate a box or two, we would greatly appreciate it. Donations can be sent in with your child or dropped off in the front office. Thank you for helping to keep our students healthy!
