Updates on Existing Programs
Satelite Counseling Program
GICSD works with various agencies and practitioners to bring mental health professionals into the school district to provide counseling services for students before or after school or during the school day. Upcoming Mental Health Trainings for Faculty
Youth Mental Health First Aid
Grand Island CSD is excited to begin the process of training faculty and staff in Youth Mental Health First Aid! According to the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, "the course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations." The first group of stakeholders will be trained in April and will then participate in a Train the Trainer program so that the rest of our faculty and staff can begin to be trained.
