What a beautiful weekend! We hope you were able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine!

PICTURE DAY IS TOMORROW! Even if you do not plan on purchasing picture packages, all students will have their photos taken tomorrow.

RAFFLE TICKETS have been hot sellers! Unfortunately there will not be an option to pay online. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, please send money with your child or stop in the office. Tickets are 4 for $1 and proceeds will be used to purchase ALL STUDENTS House shirts! Raffle prizes are shared and numbered below if you would like to help your child pre-select choices.

We are half-way through the first marking period. This means that INTERIM REPORTS will be emailed Tuesday. This is the perfect time to reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions or concerns. Be sure to check your email and spam on Tuesday!

After school HOMEWORK CLUB begins this week on Tuesday. Pick up is 4:30. There are a few remaining seats. If you are interested, please reach out to Nikole Reckner at ndreckner@ccps.org.

We all know that regular and on time school attendance matters , but did you know that missing just 2 days a month throughout the school year categorizes your child as chronically absent? Holly Hall Elementary School is committed to ensuring that students attend school regularly and on time. Attendance Works, a national organization committed to improving school attendance, has created a video to explain the problem with chronic absence, its prevalence across the country, and its impact on student achievement at every grade level. Please take a moment to watch.

In order to be the best that Holly Hall can be, it is important that we continue to solicit input from our families and community, in addition to our staff and students. We are currently updating our Title I Family Compact, as well as identifying budgetary needs. We look forward to growing better together!

Please help support our Trunk or Treat by sending in your favorite candy! If you include your child's name and teacher's name, that classroom will earn pirate coins for their class!

In the coming weeks there will be a number of important dates related to local elections in Cecil County. On 10/9/24, the Cecil County Chamber of Commerce will host a General Election Candidate Forum beginning at 6:00 PM at the Milburn Stone Theater. This event is free and open to the public. Candidates for County Executive, County Council, and the Board of Education will be speaking.

The cutoff for voter registration is 10/15/24. Please visit the Maryland State Board of Elections for more information or to register to vote.

On 10/22/24, the NAACP will host a candidate forum at Elkton High School beginning at 6:00 PM. All candidates for local office have been invited to participate.

Local elections have a significant impact on our schools. Please make an effort to learn about the candidates running for local office and support and vote for those that are committed to supporting public education in Cecil County!
