Happy September, Cardinal Families!
We are done with the first month of school! It's been such a great start... we had our first Back to School Night and enjoyed seeing families come on campus to learn some science, play some games, and enjoy some Kona Ice Slushies!
This year we are undergoing a WASC Self-Study. WASC accreditation is a voluntary process that demonstrates a school's commitment to quality education and ongoing improvement. This process assures our community that our purpose is appropriate and being accomplished through a viable education program and we are a trustworthy institution for student learning. This process happens every 3 years and helps us look at our school and set goals to improve the quality of our education.
These goals align with our School Plan (LCAP) and when we look at the data, we can make informed decisions about spending for our school.
That being said, in our efforts to provide more ways for our students to be successful, we have so many new and exciting things on campus this year!
Success Center Study Hall
This starts on Tuesday, 9/3. Students can have a place to work Mon - Fri, 10-2:30.
We have two academic interventionists available for students, if they need some help. Or it could just be a quiet place to work on assignments. These interventionists may also be reaching out to you and your student, if a teacher sees that they need some extra support on assignments or various subject areas.
College Bound
This is an exciting college and career readiness family program designed to empower 7th – 12th grade scholars and their parents and/or responsible adults in navigating the educational system while ensuring postsecondary success. Sign-ups are limited. Here's the link to the form for sign-ups: https://forms.gle/AWPv3safrzZqjgPX8
IXL/Happy Numbers
We are starting a supplementary program in our 6th-12th grades. Our students will have access to the IXL Program. They are able to take a diagnostic to see where they need some extra help in Math. Even though your student might not be taking a math class, there are drills and practice problems that can help your student be more successful in math.
Parent Square
Parent Square is our new community communication platform that will replace our current messaging system. Within this platform, teachers will be able to communicate directly with families and there is a post feature that we can use to send out documents to be signed. Look out for an email in the upcoming week to activate your parent account.
Tracy Advisory Committee
The Tracy Charter Advisory Council serves to provide feedback on school policies and procedures at Tracy Charter School to ensure that they are consistent with its Mission, Vision, and Values. The council meets periodically throughout the year to discuss the school’s direction and progress, discuss the budget, review and make suggestions for the schools LCAP yearly review and make suggestions for the school WASC accreditation report as necessary, and make general recommendations regarding the school program. If you are interested (students and parents), please fill out this form: https://forms.office.com/r/N1GUa21urm
Spirit Wear!
We have spirit wear!!! YAY! Sales close 9/30 and you can choose to ship it here for free to school for pick up. https://bit.lyTracyCharterSchool
Tiered Reengagement Policy/Student Handbook

As you know, this newsletter is dynamic, and I update it regularly with announcements and flyers. There is also a translation option at the top of the page, for our students and families that speak other languages.
As always, we look forward to each and everyday with your student and thank you for your support from home!
Thank you,
Annabelle Lee
