Reminder--2024-25 Application for Free and Reduced Meal Pricing Now Available--Deadline to Apply is Wednesday, October 16

The application for free and reduced meal pricing for the 2024-25 school year is open. Your child(ren) may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. A reminder that families who wish to participate in the Free/Reduced Meal Program must apply each year. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, October 16.

NEW STUDENT BREAKFAST - Thank you to our Student Leadership team & selected grade level leaders for hosting the breakfast for our new students to the district. And another welcome to our new students as you make the transition to the Holicong community! Pictures below!

LINDEN MEET & GREET - Our Linden 9th graders hosted our new 7th graders for a meet & greet breakfast! A tradition to make our Linden students feel welcome to Holicong!

FALL SPIRIT WEEK - Shout out to our Student Leadership team for organizing last week's spirit week! It was a great week and thank you to everyone for participating and showing your support!

FIRE DRILL & SCHOOL SAFETY - We had another successful safety drill on Wednesday. Thank you to our CERT team for their planning and preparation and our students & staff for following the expectations and procedures for all of our safety drills.

STUDENT HANDBOOK REMINDER – A reminder to all students, parents, and guardians that students that the students were provided a free student handbook the first day of school. Students are required to have the handbook with them as it is used for a variety of purposes including a sign out for students leaving class, HW & assignment record, and other school activities. Please see students SMART goal completed last week in I & E so you are aware of and can assist with completing this goal.

COLONIAL CORES & EXPECTATIONS – It was a great first week with students as we reviewed basic overview of expectations, policies, and procedures and following up this week as noted above. We have created the Colonial Core page on our website for our community to access the overview of the Colonial Cores and what we teach and the expectations we have for students and all of us in a variety of settings. We will continue to model and revisit these throughout the year!

9th GRADE UPDATES

his week 9th grade science students preformed an investigation on a non-Newtonian fluid to determine how the inner core of the Earth is a solid while the outer core is liquid.

Additionally, Team 9 held their second club session this past Friday. Students participated in everything from pickleball to Spike Ball, retro video games to Just Dance!, Uno to boardgames, and walking to gardening.

The 8th Grade Shady Brook Field Trip was a success! Students had fun doing teambuilding and fall activities!

Team 7-2 continued their Games last Friday with an exciting round of High Hoops in the gym. Mr. Hilbert's I&E took the trophy for the day and is currently in the lead for the year! Additionally, Mr. Barno's classes kicked off their Greek Games which allows them to collaborate and compete while exploring Ancient Greek Culture. Updated scores to come next week!

7-0 started their competitions for the 7-0 Victory Cup on Friday, 9/27, with a rock/paper/scissors tournament. Mrs. Madden's I & E edged out Ms. Ambrosini's I & E for the win. Mrs. Hampstead's and Mrs. Rickert's classes tied for third place.

New Webpage for Easy Access to District Practices

CBSD recently launched a new webpage, "Making Practices Public," where community members can find one-stop access to important resources concerning operational processes; major initiatives; family supports; and more. The page currently includes information related to on-campus speech and expression; communications structures; administrative areas of responsibility; supporting children at home during times of difficulty; and grade realignment. The page will be updated with new resources as they become available, so families are encouraged to check back often.

Tuesday: Annual CBSD Wellness Fair

All CBSD parents and guardians, employees, students and members of the public are invited to the district’s annual and free-to-attend Wellness Fair, to be held this coming Tuesday, October 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Central Bucks High School South (1100 Folly Road, Warrington). Featuring over 60 vendors from various sectors, including mental health professionals, behavioral health experts, and wellness providers, this complimentary event is designed to support mental health, behavioral health, and overall wellness for individuals and families.
