Purple Star School

We’re proud to announce that MacArthur Elementary has been designated a Purple Star School by the Indiana Department of Education! The Purple Star designation is awarded to schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to service members, veterans, and their families. To be recognized, a school must meet a variety of criteria. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Santaguida for her dedication in guiding MacArthur toward being recognized as a designated Purple Star School by the Indiana Department of Education. Her efforts not only brought this honor to our school but, most importantly, helped foster a deeper appreciation for our Veterans among our students and staff. We are truly grateful for her commitment to honoring those who have served.

The American Legion Post 261 of Cedar Lake, Indiana donated 2 sets of military books for our MacArthur Library! Thank you very much!!!

3rd Grade Veterans Day Program

Veterans are invited to MacArthur's Veterans Day program on Monday evening at 6:30 pm. Parking for people with disabilities is available in small parking lot in the front of the school off of Fairbanks Street.

ILEARN Checkpoint Parent Information

As we shared in August, CPCSC students in grades 3-8 are participating in the pilot of Indiana’s new ILEARN Checkpoints this school year. During the week of November 18, your student will bring home their individual student report detailing their performance. More information about the reports and ILEARN Checkpoints is available on our website.

Mac Robotics shines at Wheeler Middle School Robotics Competition!

MacRobotics had an outstanding showing this past Saturday at the Wheeler Middle School competition, with all of our teams performing remarkably well. Special congratulations to teams 10277B (Orange) and 10277D (Red) for making it to the finals! Team Orange finished in 2nd place, while Team Red secured an impressive 3rd place finish.

A huge shout-out to all our teams for their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship. Mrs. Relinski is incredibly proud of each and every one of you! Keep up the great work, and we can't wait to see what you achieve next!

Picture Retakes

Retake Picture Day is November 15th! If you're satisfied with your child's picture, no further action is required.

If you purchased and were unhappy with your Picture Package, please send your Picture Package to school with your student on Retake Day. Your Retake Picture Package will be produced and shipped to the school four weeks after Retake Day.

Please note, if your child is photographed on the original and Retake Picture Days, the Retake picture will replace the original picture in certain products, like the yearbook.

Students who were absent for Picture Day should come to school prepared to have their picture taken. If you have not preordered, please use the Retake Order Code 87578QF to place your order at https://inter-state.com/Order. To see your Order History, check your Inter-State Account.

PTO News

Marilyn's Bakery Holiday Pie Fundraiser

Pie pick up is Thursday, November 14th immediately after school until 6 pm. Please park in the small parking lot in the front of the school to pick up your pies in the cafeteria.

Remember pies need to be baked or frozen within 3 hours of pick up.

PTO Meeting

Please join us for a PTO meeting next Tuesday, November 12th at 4:15 pm in the MacArthur Library.

Strack's Receipts

Strack & Van Til helps local schools by providing FREE classroom supplies. All you have to do is collect your receipts from Strack & Van Til and send them in an envelope to the school office with ATTN PTO on them. Receipts need to be dated from September 1, 2024, through March 31, 2025. Receipts are due by April 15, 2025.

Ask your family and friends to save their receipts, too! Every dollar spent earns a point towards FREE classroom supplies.

Cafeteria News

🎂 Birthday Treats

Birthday ice cream treats are $1.00 each. Money can be uploaded via the Mealtime app or cash/check sent to the cafeteria. Treats are paid for the day the money is received. A 1 week notice is needed to order the treats.
