A Message from Mrs. Smith...

THANK YOU -- Many thanks to Mr. Paul Sanfrancesco who spoke with our students, faculty, staff, and parents on Wednesday. Those of you who attended the evening presentation will agree that the content was valuable and eye-opening. I received many positive emails and calls about the information shared. Even if you were unable to attend, I am sure your 4th - 8th graders shared what an impactful talk he gave. If your child has not shared, ask them about it. He certainly had them considering their activity online, particularly their use of social media. Thank you to Mrs. Cynthia Robinson, OLGC DRE, who organized this presentation through Sadlier Publishing.


K-8 CONFERENCES -- Parents in grades K-8 should have already scheduled your conference(s) with our teachers. Reach out to the teacher if you have not yet scheduled a meeting. Everyone is encouraged to meet with the homeroom teacher to learn about your child's progress. If the dates don't fit your calendar, reach out to the teacher to find another mutually convenient time to meet. Every parent is expected to meet with the homeroom teacher at some time. You can request a conference with your child's other teachers by contacting them directly.


ATTENDANCE -- Absence, lateness, and early dismissal all impact your child(ren)'s time in class and result in missed instruction. We understand that some appointments must be scheduled during school hours. Consider picking up your child then returning them to school following the appointment if school is still in session. Refer to pages 11 and 12 of the Student-Parent Handbook for our attendance policy. Students are expected to maintain an attendance average of 90%.
