Greetings

Hi everyone,


I am going to address this message to everyone, families as well as staff.


I would like to wish everyone a healthy and peaceful Spring Break. I know it doesn't feel that much like a vacation, but I hope the week will be as enjoyable as possible. Teachers will not be adding any additional content online for students. I am hoping all of our teachers relax and get into vacation mode. I am thinking of making my screen saver a tropical island.


I am already missing everyone. I look forward to walking the halls of LAMS again and seeing kids and staff and even the occasional trash on the floor. I hope there are positive outcomes to this situation. Perhaps some students will appreciate school more than they did. Maybe books that have been in the stack by your bed will get read. I know my cabinets are better organized already.

The Hawk Soars

Mrs. Shiina passed the hawk to Ms. Neil. The hawk goes from one staff member to another in recognition of excellence. Both of you deserved the hawk!

Pi-rates

A pirate and her friend celebrate Pi Day! What a great last day of school before the closure. A huge thank you to the PTO, Ms. Gross and Dr. Fogle for all the hard work. Thank you to anyone else who helped make this great day possible!

The Math Department and Friends

The math department and friends dished up the amazing pies our LAMS families sent. Thank you for the yumminess.

This year's theme was Pi(rates) of the Carribean.

Lunch on the Patio

On the Thursday before the last day of school, all of the students ate lunch outside. It was lovely. When we return to school, we plan to dine al fresco more often.

Way to go Science Bowl Students

Our Science Bowl students came in first place at the state competition. This win qualified them for the national competition. This year the competition has moved on line, but the top teams will have the chance to go to DC this summer if all goes well in the world. Three cheers for the team and their teacher, Mrs. Fullop!!!

Thank you Gillian!

Gillian, of Flowers by Gillian, delivered beautiful floral arrangements for our staff. They brightened the building for many days. It was a wonderful gesture!

Tone and Mood Writing

Mrs. Goddard's students got the opportunity to identify elements of tone and mood from a short story and write about it on their desks. Sometimes it is more fun to write on your desk in marker than on paper. The class looked so cool with the writing on all the desks!

Snowshoeing Fun!

One of our last XL Saturdays was snowshoeing in the Jemez. A good time was had by all. Thank you Mrs. Parkinson for arranging this outing!

The Last Commons

The last commons area at LAMS will soon be a classroom. The work has begun to enclose the commons so we can have a quieter, more private classroom environment.
