Principal's Message
Dear BGHS families,
As you may know, Battle Ground’s Board of Directors voted to rerun the replacement education
and operations levy in the April 22 special election. The current education and operations levy will expire after 2025.
How the levy affects Battle Ground High School
If approved, the replacement levy would continue to fund the following at our school:
- Our Dean of Students
- Campus Security
- C-Team Sports
- Advanced Placement Classes that are run below the normal class size
- Prevention/Intervention Specialists
- School Librarian
- School Counselors
- Crossing Guards
- And SO MUCH MORE
How you can learn more
Please consider attending a presentation next month. These presentations are an opportunity to learn about what the levy pays for and next steps if it were to fail a second time. There are two dates that you can choose from:
April 8 at the Lewisville Campus, 406 NW Fifth Ave., Battle Ground
April 16 at Prairie High School, 11311 NE 119th St., Vancouver
Both presentations begin at 5:30 p.m. and are open to the public. Childcare and light refreshments will be provided. Can’t make it to the presentation? Here is a short informational video about the levy. You can also find more information, including FAQs and a calculator, on the district’s website.
You should receive your ballot between April 1 and April 4. The deadline to vote is 8 p.m. on April 22.If you have any questions, please let me know. I am happy to discuss in more detail.
Thank you,
Heather Ichimura, Proud Principal of BGHS

Right now, they have severe needs for items including soap, hygiene products, socks, underwear and more.

Report Incidents Anonymously with Safe Schools
Please report bullying, intimidation, harassment, threats and safety concerns using our anonymous reporting system. Reporters can remain anonymous. Emergencies should always be reported to 911. Learn more about emergency procedures and safety protocols.
Report, don’t repost
If you see or hear of a possible threat, please report it to law enforcement directly and/or to school staff. This is the best and most helpful action because it begins an investigation and helps to limit the potential for misinformation to spread. Reposting or sharing a threat on social media in an attempt to warn others spreads the threat farther from its original source and may cause unnecessary alarm and fear. You can report bullying, intimidation, harassment, threats and safety concerns using our anonymous reporting system. Emergencies should always be reported to 911.
