Weekly Update
Holy Trinity Catholic School October 10th, 2024
Our Mission is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
to provide a high-quality education,
and to guide children in living the Catholic faith
Prayer
God our Father, may the vastness of your creation that we can begin to see through a telescope,
remind us of the abundance of your love.
May the lowliness of the smallest creatures and cells that we can see through a microscope, remind us of how insignificant - yet special - we appear to be.
May our vision each day of the world around us remind us that you so loved the world that you sent Jesus, your Son, to be one of us.
In all that we observe, open our eyes so that we may really see and grow in wonder and appreciation.
Amen.
A Note from Mrs. Longden
Have you ever felt like no matter how many people that you had near you, the only one who would comfort and understand you would be your mother? We are so lucky to have this comfort in our Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus and mother to us all.
The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7. It was instituted to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful.
Here at Holy Trinity, we teach the children to look to Mary for her example of faith and love as the mother of Jesus and to be our mother too, calling on her to guide us as our earthly mothers would. The Rosary offers a simple way to meditate on the life of Jesus as we pray. The school children enjoy this time when we recite the Rosary together or when they get a chance to meditate alone. The Blessed Virgin Mary is present with each in our prayers and meditations. We will be praying the rosary together with our grandparents on Grandparents Day and as a school at the end of October.
Blessings,
Mrs. Longden
Theme
Father Patrick has picked a theme for this year for our school:
To Jesus we go, through Mary
During our staff retreat, Father Patrick shared the theme with us and ways we can grow closer to Mary. Mary helps us to know Jesus in a deeper way. Our goal is to continue to deepen our relationship with Jesus, with the help of Mary. We want to follow Mary's example and be close to Jesus during the events in our life.
