6th Grade field trip
In celebration of the end of the year and in support of our math curriculum, sixth graders will be taking a field trip to Sparetime Recreation on Tuesday, June 10th. Students will enjoy 2 hours of bowling with their classmates. They will keep track of their scores and use the data for a math application activity back in school. Sparetime will be closed to the public during our visit.
The fee for this field trip will be $13 and will cover the cost of shoe rental and bowling. Checks can be made payable to Northbridge Middle School. We will walk to and from the bowling alley, located at 117 Church St, Whitinsville, MA 01588.
Team 6-2 will go for the first session;
departing NMS at 8:15am, and returning at 10:45.
Team 6-1 will go for the second session;
departing NMS at 11:15am, and returning at 1:45.
End of year events
JUNE 12th
● 8th grade awards ceremony starting at 8:00am.
Parents are invited to attend.
● 8th grade promotion rehearsal in the gym 9:00am.
● 8th grade field day after lunch. (11:30-12:30)
- 12:45-2pm Viewing of Screenagers - Screenagers is about the impact of the digital age on children and how to help them minimize harmful effects and find balance. After seeing the film, people tell us that they feel more confident and better equipped to establish balance around screen time.
JUNE 13th
● Breakfast for 8th grade students in the cafeteria
starting at 8:00am. Students only
● Promotion ceremony for 8th grade students
starting at 9:00am. Doors open at 8:30am.
Parents are welcome to take their students after the ceremony but we need a note dismissing your students. This can be sent in with your student that morning. Due to the amount of people in the building and number of students being dismissed we are asking parents to send in a dismissal note versus letting Ms. Capistran know after the ceremony. If your student will not be in school on Friday, June 14 please let the office know. We need to have accurate attendance records.
8th grade Spanish 24-25
Next year we have an exciting opportunity for the 8th grade students. A teacher from the high school will be coming to the middle school to teach Spanish 1 to students who are interested in pursuing five years of Spanish at the high school level. This is a high school level course, not an exploratory course, and will run full year. The students will be entering into Spanish 2 as freshman.
