9/26 Daily Announcements

We are already planning for the winter sports season. The first step is to confirm the number of students that will be playing basketball for SATEC. To register to be part of the Middle School Basketball Program for students in graded 5-8 please use this link. Registration Link

Practices will begin the week of November 18th and the season will run through the week of February 10th.

SATEC School Pictures will be Thursday, October 3rd and Friday, October 4th. Picture forms will be sent home later this week and the schedule will be posted and shared for Friday's announcements.

On Thursday, SATEC will be having classroom discussions about our Options Based Emergency Codes and what they mean. This drill practice was scheduled at the start of the year and is one of the multiple opportunities that we use to review our Emergency Codes with students.

These Emergency phrases are the phrases used over the intercom to initiate a Safety Protocol other than an evacuation that is triggered by a Fire Alarm. For instance these Options include Securing the School (in the event there is an external disturbance), Clearing the Halls (in the event we need to provide privacy during a medical event within the school), Lockdown in the event there is a credible threat directed at the building or Evacuation (for reasons other than a fire alarm).

Staff will be reviewing the Emergency Codes with their students in a developmentally appropriate way on Thursday.

Envelopes for fall sports pictures will be going home this week. Please find the schedule below. Students can plan to stay after school for their photos and head out when their team has had their photos taken.

We wanted to take a moment to let families know that attendance can be reported to Michelle Dow by calling 752-2600 or by email at satec-attendance@maplerun.org should your child be out sick, coming in late from an appointment or for other attendance questions that you may have.

We'd also like to remind families that when sending in notes to school to please include both first and last name of your child and the name of their homeroom teacher.
