Dear Hyde-Addison ES Families,

Although DCPS will not have school for students on Tuesday, June 4th, we hope to see all students present on Monday, June 3rd, as we kick off spirit week!

Enrollment

As of this morning, our total enrollment was at 95%, with a re-enrollment rate of 86% . The DCPS end of school year benchmark is 100%. As we have begun making wait list offers to ensure full and timely enrollment, please be mindful that reenrolling now will significantly support maintaining small class sizes.

Hyde-Addison will be partnering with Active Play for the 2024-25 school year to host enrichment opportunities for students after school hours on site. We are excited about their ability to manage a large portfolio of options for our students and families! Please find information from them, below:

Active Play is thrilled to partner with the Hyde Addison community! Our team is committed to delivering engaging and enriching programs within a safe and supportive atmosphere. Parents can explore our offerings and learn more about each program on our website here. Additionally, all parents should review our Parent Handbook prior to registering for any of our programs.

REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON FRIDAY, JUNE 14 AT 9:00AM AND SEATS WILL BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE IN CLASSES!

To help make the registration process smoother, here's what you can do to prepare in advance:

1. Parents will not be able to create a TeamSnap account until our registration link goes live. Once the link opens on Friday, June 14th at 9:00am, parents will be able to create their own account using the provided link (below). This account can then be utilized for all future registrations.

2. Plan your schedule: Take some time to decide which classes you'd like to enroll in for the season. Please note that the same registration link (below) will work for Fall Session 1 and Fall Session 2 but you will have to go through the sign up process separately for each session.

Nutrislice's digital menu technology will provide DCPS with an enhanced user experience providing the ability to easily navigate menus, filter for dietary and allergen restrictions, change preferred language settings, and much more. Here is the site!

Some notable features include

· Nutrition calculators and viewable nutrition fact labels.

· Printable menus with the ability to translate in multiple languages.

· The ability to filter menus based on allergens and dietary needs.

· Easy navigation between school locations and menu types.

·App available makes accessing menus easy.

·News section where our dieticians post nutritional content and tips for healthy eating.

Feel free to dress up for Spirit Week, which will be June 3-7, 2024.

Field Day for Grades K-5 will be Monday, June 10 and PreK will have Field Day on June 6.

Please note that there is no school on Tuesday, June 4 (per the DCPS calendar) but we are hopeful families will email photos of you all twinning to hyde.addison@k12.dc.gov to be featured on a bulletin board!

ANY FAMILY WHO DOES NOT WANT THEIR CHILD TO PARTICIPATE IN SPLASH DAY CAN OPT OUT BY EMAILING HYDE.ADDISON@K12.DC.GOV PRIOR TO THURSDAY JUNE 13.

We would like all families to share some information with our team in advance so that we can get to know their strengths and learning needs. This information will be given to your child's classroom teacher in advance of the first day of school so that they can support their transition. Fill out this short form!

Rainbow Children's Festival

Saturday, June 1st

Behind the Georgetown Neighborhood Library

Rainbow Fest is for ALL kids to signal that their community supports them being themselves, regardless of their gender or sexuality. Again this year, our theme will be "Be-YOU-tiful!" and we will be encouraging kids to "Be Kind and Be-YOU-tiful!"

DCPS is so excited to offer Grades 5-8 DCPS students a host of summer enrichment opportunities. Families can register their children here. Programs run 3-5 weeks. POC: 6-12summerlearning@k12.dc.gov

Please complete SY24-25 enrollment by following two steps:

1. Complete the online DCPS enrollment packet at Enrolldcps.dc.gov (ask the main office if you need a paper copy)

2. Submit Valid Proof of DC Residency. Examples of residency documents are listed below. You can attach and and submit these documents at the end of the online Enrollment Packet (linked above).

To enroll your child in Champions aftercare for SY24-25:

1. Create a parent portal [STEP 1]

   a. Your parent portal will give you access to billing, scheduling and many more things that will assist you.

2. Fill out the attached Enrollment Packets [STEP 2]

1. Ensure to have your REQUESTED SCHEDULE completed.

2. Ensure you fill out all 3 OSSE forms.

3. Ensure you fill out a separate form for each of your students.

4. Ensure there is contact information for primary and secondary payer (email and number).

5. Ensure you are putting your child/children grade on the enrollment form.

6. When finished please email a copy to CH002523@DISCOVERCHAMPIONS.COM.

SummerFest has been confirmed for Friday, May 31 from 4:30-7:30! This is a free event for our community to come out, have some fun and celebrate the end of a great school year and the start of summer. We are seeking sponsors to help cover the cost of activity stations at SummerFest so if you want to help make the event a success please reach out to Skyler F. on Konstella or email pta.hydeaddison@gmail.com. Please be reminded to email hyde.addison@k12.dc.gov to inform the team of your child's absence, in order for it to be excused. If your child has a communicable illness, like strep throat, RSV, pink eye, or lice, please also include that information.

School ends at 3:25pm and students are late being picked up after 3:30pm. Please be reminded that early dismissal ends at 2:50pm and we must clear the field for aftercare students to use.
