COVID Update
- The metric passed by the school board on September 13th.
- The number of active, continuing, and recovered cases in each school.
- The total number of cases in the district (community) from the Department of Health website.
Based on the metric, face coverings will be required at L.B. Clarke next week.
The situation will be re-assessed again next week using the data.
MONDAY IS A PURPLE DAY!
FACE COVERINGS REQUIRED AT L.B. CLARKE NEXT WEEK- 11/8-11/12
Please be sure to send your child to school with a face covering to wear... sending an extra is a good idea. We appreciate everyone's cooperation in keeping school open and safe for everyone.
L.B. Clarke At the Theatre
We will have a shortened schedule in the morning, eat lunch, and board buses to the high school. The performance will begin at approximately 12:20 pm and is about 2 hours long. We will then board buses and return to L.B. Clarke for the end of the school day.
This is a tradition at Clarke that we are happy to return to after not being able to attend last year. All students and staff will wear face coverings at school, on the bus, and during the performance. Both Clarke and TRHS are required to wear face coverings next week.
If you have any questions, please call the middle school office at 794-1614.
End of 1st Quarter- November 5th
Skyward is the place to monitor for grades and missing assignments. This is where teachers share this information, not on Google Classroom. Students can see tasks assigned by the teacher that are missing in their Google Classroom, but Skyward will show the graded assignments or assessments are missing.
Just a reminder, we do not print paper reports cards. We really want to encourage parents to be in Skyward online. First quarter grades will be posted in Skyward on Friday, November 12th.
Please let us know if you have any questions. Let's finish the first quarter Raider Strong!
What Veterans and Veterans Day Means To Me...
If your child would like to be a part of the video, either you or they can email me at timothy.wester@trschools.k12.wi.us
We will be recording the video clips using the video studio where we record the morning announcements every day. Students can share personal stories, a specific veteran the appreciate, or general thoughts.
L.B. Clarke Fall Book Fair- 11/8 Through 11/12
We are in need of parent volunteers to help with the book fair. If you are able to help staff the book fair during the school day, please email me at timothy.wester@trschools.k12.wi.us
In addition to the opportunity for you to get great books in the hands of your child, the school also earns Scholastic Bucks for each sale. We are able to use Scholastic Bucks to purchase books for our classroom libraries. The book fair is a win-win!
You can find information about our book fair at the link below...
Halloween Dress-up and Activity Night
Weather Appropriate Dress- Quarters 2 and 3
As the weather gets colder and the snow flies, students will still be going outside for recess, etc.
Please make sure your child is wearing weather appropriate clothing when coming to school. We appreciate your support!
The Golden Raider
The #GoldenRaider is moving to the next student, 6th grader, Gabby Treptow-Robinson! Ms. Mas is passing the #GoldenRaider to Gabby because she is a joy to have in class, she's always so positive, and she is bright and bubbly. Gabby puts a lot of time into her school work and tries her best at all times. Congratulations, Gabby, you are a true #GoldenRaider! #LBCisThePlaceToBe #WeAreTR
Attendance Matters!
As of Friday, November 5th, we have had 43 days of school. To keep up with our goal of missing less than 10% of the school year, students who have missed 4 or less days of school are on track to achieve this goal.
Please continue to have conversations with your student about the importance of being at school. If you need any assistance or would like to set up an attendance plan for your student, please feel free to contact school.
A Word From Student Services...
Is "I'm Sorry" Enough?
From the Sept. 2021 Love & Logic Blog
Often parents ask me, "When my child misbehaves or causes a problem for someone, he's quick to say, 'I'm sorry.' Is that enough, or should he have a consequence?" Common sense tells us that actions speak louder than words. That's why it's important that our kids do more than just apologize.
Let's look at an example of how Love and Logic can help parents teach responsibility to kids:
Parent: “This is so sad. You rode your bike right through Mrs. Wilson's flowers. What are you going to do?”
Child: “Uh, say 'I'm sorry'?”
Parent: “That's a great start! But what can you do to show her that you are sorry?”
Child: “I don't know.”
Parent: “Would you like to hear some ideas?”
Child: “What?”
Parent: “Some kids decide to buy some new flowers and plant them for her. How would that work?”
Child: “I don't have any money.”
Parent: “Other kids ask their parents to buy some new flowers, and they pay their parents back by doing lots of extra chores. Let me know what you decide. Good luck.”

School-Based Covid Testing- Info and Permission
Dear Parents, Caregivers, and Guardians,
The Two Rivers Public School District is committed to taking the steps necessary to help us have a safe and successful school year. As part of steps to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and keep our school open for in-person learning, we will offer a free COVID-19 Testing Program for students, their immediate families, and staff at Koenig, Magee, L.B. Clarke, and the Two Rivers High School. Regular testing will help protect our students, staff, family members, and others who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 or are otherwise at risk for getting seriously sick from COVID-19.
Through this program, we will be able to identify COVID-19 cases quickly and early, which can help us stop an outbreak before it happens. This will help us keep students in the classroom and able to take part in the school activities they love.
This letter asks your permission for us to test your child if they show symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or have been in close contact with a person with COVID-19 while in school (per your request)... Click the button below.
We are extremely grateful to our committed families and staff who continue to show great flexibility and resilience as we work together to contain the spread of this virus. If you have questions regarding the COVID-19 Testing Program, please reach out to your child’s school, Jamie Rohrer, school nurse, or Kelly Tice, health paraprofessional.
Sincerely,
Jamie Rohrer, RN; (920) 323-6233 or 794-1614, ext 4105
Kelly Tice, health paraprofessional; 794-7522, ext. 2027

priority. When your child comes to the health office with complaints of illness,
he/she will be assessed for symptoms of COVID-19.
PLEASE, DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL IF HE OR SHE IS ILL.
If your child answers yes to any ONE of the following, they will be sent home immediately to isolate. Further information and instructions will be provided.
Has your child been in close contact with anyone who tested positive for Covid-19 or was diagnosed with Covid-19 in the last 14 days?
Has your child been diagnosed with Covid-19 by a healthcare provider in the last 10 days?
Has your child developed any of the following symptoms within the past 24 hours?
Cough
Shortness of breath or trouble breathing
New loss or sense of taste or smell
Has your child taken medication in the past 24 hours to lower temperature (i.e. tylenol or ibuprofen)?
If your child answers yes to any TWO OR MORE of the following, they will be sent home immediately to isolate.
Sore throat
Unusual fatigue
Nausea or vomiting*
Runny nose or nasal congestion
Headache
Muscle or body aches
Fever (greater than 100.4)* or chills
Diarrhea*
*vomiting, diarrhea and fever -alone or together- should exclude a child from school*
Please have your child tested for COVID-19 if symptoms are present, and are directed to do so. Keep your child’s school informed of test results and work with them to determine isolation or quarantine dates. Do not send your child back to school until the isolation or quarantine period is over AND he/she is symptom-free for 24 hours without the use of symptom-reducing medications.
