School Transportation Rules and Reminders ๐
In accordance with federal and state policy, school districts may operating a regular transportation system for eligible students. A โregular eligible studentโ means a student who resides two or more miles from the student's campus of regular attendance, measured along the shortest route that may be traveled on public roads, and who is not classified as a student eligible for special education services; or is a homeless child or youth, as defined by 42 U.S.C. 11434a. Education Code 48.151(b)(1)
A โspecial education eligibleโ student is a student who has been recommended and approved to receive transportation services by an Admission, Review, and Determination (ARD) Committee and the transportation services are included and described in the students Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
When applicable, a parent may designate one of the following locations instead of the child's residence as the regular location for purposes of obtaining transportation under the system to and from the child's school, if the location is an approved stop on an approved route:
1. A child-care facility; or
2. The residence of a grandparent of the child.
In order to approve this designation, parents must annually submit a request form.

Cafeteria Menus for Elementary & Secondary Campuses (August) ๐ง๐๐ฅช
The SFDR-CISD Child Nutrition Services Office operates under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and is administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). SFDR-CISD Child Nutrition Services staff carefully analyzes menus to ensure that one-fourth of the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs) are met for breakfast, and one-third are met for lunch.
Students can expect a menu that is balanced and healthy, and offers a variety of foods for differing tastes. An assortment of salads as well as fresh fruit and whole grains are a few of the options for health conscious students. Click the Nutri-Slice link below to view the list of our school breakfast and lunch menus for the month of August. You can return to this link each month to find updated menu selections.
Special Note to Parents: If your child requires a special diet, we invite you to download the Special Diet Form, and have your child's physician complete it and sign it. We ask that a copy of the signed forms be submitted to the school nurse, who will in turn notify cafeteria manager as soon as possible.
Texas Minimum Vaccine Requirements ๐ฅ๐ฉน๐ฉบ

The Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ
Dear Parents and Students,
The Student Code of Conduct specifically explains legal policies, rules, and regulations that pertain to wrong or inappropriate behaviors, which may, in certain cases, violate state law. The districtโs Code stands as an authoritative document and, once adopted, has the force of policy. The SFDRCISD Student Handbook is a general reference guide for students and parents to promote a safe and orderly learning environment for every student.
Parents, we believe that students can make responsible decisions regarding their behavior when they understand the rules and the consequences of violating them. We especially ask that you consistently monitor your childโs academic, social and emotional well-being. Please keep in touch with us often and reach out to us if either of you or your child needs help. Our campus principals and staff are always available to explain policies and procedures, even if it means making this document easily accessible or translating it in a language that is understood by you.
Students, ask for help before a problem arises or worsens. By working together, we can keep our energy focused upon our primary goal - your learning.
Important School Safety Reminders ๐
Clear Backpack Policy ๐๐
SFDRCISD requires all middle and high school students to use clear backpacks during the school year. Students participating in an extracurricular activity are permitted to carry non-transparent bags when storing band or athletic gear. All extracurricular activity bags must be stored in designated areas when entering the school building. In the interest of safety, all bags and backpacks are subject to search. Any backpacks or bags not meeting the clear backpack guideline will be confiscated and returned to the parent. Backpacks will not be returned to students.
Elementary school students are NOT subject to the clear backpack policy at this time.
No Vape Policy โโโ
It is illegal for anyone under 21 years old to purchase, possess, use, or accept tobacco products, including e-cigarettes or vape devices, in Texas. Parents and students alike should be aware that House Bill 114 requires schools to punish students caught with vaping products. Punishments include placing students in alternative schooling or a disciplinary program. The length of the punishment depends on the offense.
Bullying and Cyberbullying
Today, more than any time in history of our District, safety in our schools is of utmost importance. Keeping schools safe is a challenge that our schools cannot accomplish by themselves. It is our belief that collaboratively, parents, students, staff and community members acting together can help keep our schools safe. Please take the time to discuss the importance of reporting any unusual activity or information that will help keep schools safe. โIf you see something, say something and do somethingโ. You have the option to report anonymously on the Online Anonymous Reporting Form.
