As we begin the 2024-25 school year, CBSD wishes to remind families of important information regarding attendance. Pennsylvania's school laws, like Act 138 of 2016 and the updated Act 16, outline what is required for mandatory school attendance and procedures to follow when students are absent or late. Learn more.

Student dismissal begins promptly at 3:15PM.

If you need to pick your child up early for an appointment, please pick them up no later then 2:45PM. After 2:45PM, your child can be dismissed with the other walkers, bus riders, and car riders in his/her classroom to ensure a safe and efficient dismissal for everyone. Thank you!

To volunteer at a class party or chaperone a field trip, your clearances must be up-to-date & on file with Central Bucks School District.

If your clearances are current, upload them into the App Garden - Volunteer Tracker. If your clearances have expired, or you need to begin the clearance process, click on the Required Documents for the directions. Fall conference sign-ups will "go live" this afternoon at 3:30PM through specific teacher Sign-Up Genius links.

If you are having any difficulty selecting a conference time, please contact your child(ren)'s teacher to make other arrangements.

Conference Dates:

• Grades 1st-6th: November 25th & 26th
• Kindergarten: November 21st, 22nd, 25th, & 26th

Picture re-takes are Monday, 11/11. If you wish to have a re-take, please send your child to school with their original photo packet. They will turn that in, and have a new photo taken.

To mark this special day, we are hosting "Veteran Class Speakers". Any veteran, or someone currently serving in the military, is invited to speak to a class. The time of the presentation will be determined by the teacher and speaker.

A 20-minute presentation would include:

• A description of your military job/responsibilities
• A favorite memory from your service
• Questions from the students

Our hope is for every class to have a speaker, please let us know if you are able to do more than one presentation. NOTE: While we will make every effort to match you with your child's (grandchild's) class, you may be speaking to a different class.

To honor the men and women who have served, we are creating a Wall of Heroes! Please feel free to choose one template, add a photo or draw a picture, and then, send it in with your child to the Gayman Main Office. Your family member/friend will be honored on our Wall of Heroes!

These posters will be hanging in the main hallway of Gayman for the month of November.

This year we will once again extend the spirit of giving for the Thanksgiving holiday. Given the continuing economic conditions, many CB families find themselves in need of assistance. Therefore, Gayman will be collecting a monetary donation that will be used to purchase grocery store gift cards to be used towards the Thanksgiving holiday. Contributions will be collected now through Friday, November 15th. Please send your donation to the front office in an envelope marked “Thanksgiving Donations.” You can also Venmo a donation to HSA @Gayman-HomeandSchool. - Please list "Holiday Monetary Donation" in the comments.

We appreciate your voluntary participation in this worthwhile project. We truly believe that in giving we also receive, and helping others immeasurably enriches our children’s lives.

**We will also be doing our Giving Tree for Christmas and Hanukkah. Tags will be on display starting the week of conferences.

Congrats to CB West junior Kayla Sanocki for winning the second round of CBSD's lock screen contest! Her original artwork will be featured on CBSD devices in November. The district now invites students to try their hand in the next round of the contest, inspired by CBSD's "Portrait of a Graduate" Resilient Learners attribute. Submissions are due Nov. 20th. The Central Bucks Education Foundation is proud to offer a needs-based "Holicong Road Scholarship" of up to $50,000 annually to a current senior at CB South, CB East, or CB West who is graduating in June 2025 and plans to attend a 4-year college or university in summer or fall 2025. The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student with demonstrated financial need who has a strong academic history and is actively involved in school activities or within the community. CBSD utilizes the online platform MySchoolBucks for school meal payments, making it easy to oversee a child's meal choices and maintain their account balance. It is important that an account is created for every student, regardless of whether they take part in school meals or not.

You can access MySchoolBucks to view and/or set up an account for your student(s) here.

To set up an account, you will need your child(ren)'s student identification number(s), which can be found in the Parent Portal.

The application for free and reduced meal pricing for the 2024-25 school year is open. You can access the online application for Free & Reduced Meals by clicking here. The application must be submitted each year AND for each child. If your child received free or reduced lunch last year, you must re-apply for the 24-25 school year.

Orders are placed online and shipped directly to your home within 2-3 weeks of the order date. Simply search for your child's art using Art Search, and enter state, school name, and your student's name. Your student's art and code will appear (under the artwork), and you may order!

All orders must be placed by November 8th.
