Community Bond Advisory Committee
The Community Bond Advisory Committee (CBAC) held its second meeting on February 27th for a significant milestone in its mission: conducting walkthroughs of potential building sites. This marks a pivotal step forward in the committee's efforts to evaluate options for future projects and initiatives. The importance of these walkthroughs cannot be overstated. They offer the opportunity to assess factors such as accessibility, infrastructure, environmental considerations, and community impact. The outcomes of these walkthroughs will play a crucial role in shaping the recommendations put forth by the Community Bond Advisory Committee.
As the committee progresses in its deliberations, stakeholders and community members can rest assured that their voices will be heard and their interests will be represented.
For additional and continuous information please visit our CBAC website.

CLSD Awarded the Education Employee Well-Being Grant
The Central Linn School District has been awarded an employee wellness grant by the Oregon Educators Association starting in 2024. This grant was a competitive grant and a school district may only receive this grant one time. Central Linn was awarded $40,000 this year with the potential to receive more funds in the future.
The awarded grant proposal will provide resources to assist all district staff in promoting wellness individually and in the workplace. The grant proposal included three goals, or grant deliverables in three wellness categories for this first year.
The primary grant deliverable goal was to create a diverse staff wellness committee that requires and mandates regular involvement and participation from management as well as various employee groups. In addition to establishing a staff wellness committee, the proposal allocated funds for wellness spaces such as a room for fitness equipment for staff or a makeover for breakroom areas. Additionally, the proposal also identified that there would be funds allocated to support social connectedness through regular and ongoing wellness events. Lastly, the grant approved that each individual could receive $150.00 to support their individual wellness plans.
We thank Joanne Trzcinski, Wellness Coordinator, for her time and efforts to secure this grant!

SPANISH CLASS HAPPENINGS
In Spanish classes, the focus was on Culture Week with an emphasis on learning about diverse regions and cultures in Mexico and the Americas. Students learned about Afro-Latino cultural contributions and history as it aligns with Black History Month in February.
By the end of the week, students were able to answer the following questions:
1. What does Afro-Latino mean?
2. Why is it important to celebrate different cultures?
3. Who are some famous Afro-Latinos that made history and what were their contributions?
4. Where is the new Spiderman from in the SpiderVerse? (Puerto Rico) What aspects of his culture are shown in the movie?
We finished the week off by cooking tacos and learning about diverse food from different regions in Mexico.

OREGON ROUTES LAUNCH SUCCESS WITH CENTRAL LINN SCHOOL DISTRICT
Parent Testimony - As a single parent working odd hours, getting my daughter to school was a constant struggle. The ride-share program has been a lifesaver! She now arrives happy and ready to learn, and it's made a huge difference in our lives.
Driver Testimony - Becoming a driver Oregon Routes has been more than just transportation; it's building deeper connections with my students. Seeing their faces light up when they climb in makes my day. It's rewarding to know I'm helping them overcome obstacles and ensuring they receive the education they deserve.
Administrator Testimony - Before the ride-share program, many of our rural students simply couldn't consistently access education due to transportation barriers. Now, thanks to this innovative program those unserved students are now arriving on time and engaged. It's been a game-changer for our community and a beacon of hope for equal opportunities.
