Sagebrush Elementary
Family Update 12/20/2024
Message from the Principal
Dear Sagebrush Families,
As we approach the winter break, I want to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful progress and accomplishments we’ve seen throughout this semester. It has been an absolute joy to watch our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Their enthusiasm and curiosity are truly inspiring, and they remind us of why we are here: to nurture and guide our students to become lifelong learners and to achieve their goals.
This time of year offers a well-deserved opportunity to rest, recharge, and spend quality time with family and loved ones. Whether you’re enjoying time outdoors, reading a favorite book, or simply relaxing together, I hope the break is filled with moments that bring you joy and connection.
Looking ahead, we’re excited about all that the new semester will bring. From engaging classroom projects to school events and extracurricular activities, there’s so much to look forward to as we continue to support your child’s learning journey.
Thank you for your partnership and support in making Sagebrush a vibrant and welcoming place for all. Wishing you and your family a safe and refreshing winter break.
Warm regards,
Chris Powell
Principal

Some students participated in the Rich Morrow Math Challenge on Saturday the 14th of December. We came home with three awards!
Henry O'Neil got the top individual at Sagebrush.
Jay Loyd got SECOND place for the top individual in fifth grade!
Charlie Cline got first place for the top individual in fourth grade!
The other people who participated that day were:

Brandon Winter
Ellie O'Neil
We also had others that learned beside us and try hard at school to build their math thinking:
Mikayla Jones
Erick Vega-Arista
Connor Hess
We are so proud of ALL of our participants! Great Job!!!

Don't Forget Your Vaccines!
The holidays are here! Between cold weather and holiday gatherings, illnesses are more likely to spread. Please remember to stay up-to-date with your flu shot and COVID booster shot this holiday season. Learn more information about CCSD vaccine clinics.
Please apply for Free and Reduced Lunch
Even though all students in Colorado receive free lunch, we are asking families to fill out the free and reduced lunch application because it helps us maintain our Title I status. Title I is a Federal program that provides funding based on the number of students eligible for free and reduced-price lunch, and these funds support additional educational resources, programs, and services for students who need them most. By completing the form, even if you don't think you qualify, you ensure that our school continues to receive critical funding to support all students. Your participation makes a big difference in maintaining these important resources!
The application can be found at https://www.myschoolapps.com/ .
