This Week At Woodside
Solar Eclipse Monday!
Although we are not in the path of totality, we plan to experience the excitement of the solar eclipse on Monday, especially, since the next one will not happen until 2045! Our PTO has graciously purchased eclipse glasses for all students to allow for watching
Most classes will be heading to the blacktop in the morning, knowing best time to see the eclipse from our location is 11:07 am (34% coverage).
Spring Expectation Stations
As a reminder of behavior expectations for the final trimester, Monday morning our middle school Peer Mentors will be visiting 1st-5th grade classrooms for a short review of how to show your ROARS (Respect, Organization, Acceptance, Responsibility, and Safety)!
Spring Picture Day Friday
Friday morning all students will take their spring pictures. Each class will take a group photo, then all students will take individual photos. The order forms have been sent home, but there are more available in the office.

Thank you Heights Church!
Over the Spring Break, Heights Church brought 25 teen volunteers with their "Love This City" Project to beautify our campus! We are so excited to be transforming the bike rack area for Outdoor Learning, including gardening boxes, chairs, tables, rugs, and storage options. This group also power washed and primed our planter boxes around the campus and added a new layer of bark. Several of our students are writing Thank You letters for these efforts to express our gratitude!

We hope everyone had a good spring break! All 8th grade course selections have been submitted to high schools for next year. We also had two of our 8th grade alumni students come back to talk about their high school experiences with our 8th grade students. The feedback from students were positive and we can't wait to host a new panel for next year.

Citrus Heights Metro Fire Camp
FIRE CAMP is an excellent opportunity for our firefighters to help 11, 12 and 13-year-old kids build a sense of teamwork and responsibility while learning what it’s like to be a firefighter for Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. As the week progresses, the teams take on a character of their own as they learn about the job of a firefighter and experience the following:
Putting out a flammable liquid fire with a fire extinguisher
Climbing a 105-foot aerial ladder truck
Developing the traditional bucket brigade and hand pumper crew skills
Learning life skills such as Hands-Only CPR
Water rescue skills at SunSplash, and much more!
