Message from the Principal
October 28
It was a serious leap of faith for me as Harvest Fest unfolded. As you perhaps have discovered, I like to run a tight ship. I had so many questions. Is there a system of assigning staff to stations or do we all just float? How do we keep track of kids, are they totally free range? What happens in case of a meltdown? And, oh my, what about the parking? I knew none of these things. I had to trust the universe, and FOCS.
And it worked beautifully. Almost a hundred kids, gorgeous blue skies, too many volunteers to count. Goats, a tractor, fire, swarms of lady bugs, and bees everywhere attracted to the sweet cider. I have never experienced anything quite like that, ever, in any school. It was a glorious afternoon of free-flowing joy.
There were too many gorgeous photos for me to choose from but I kept adding them in until it seemed ridiculous. Thank you, Cornwall community, for an unforgettable Harvest Fest!
With tremendous gratitude,
Nadya

Snack Donations Running Low!
The snack donations were a huge hit, and we use them to keep hungry kids fueled throughout the day. We're running low on cheese crackers, peanut butter crackers, goldfish/cheese crackers, and other single-serve, non-perishable snacks. Long-lasting refrigerator snacks such as cheese sticks are also popular.

Community Input on the Budget Process
This budget season, ACSD will be working to create a spending plan for FY 26 that protects and preserves the trust of our voters, advances the work of our strategic plan, and honors the values that have led to widespread and historic support of public education within our ACSD community. Read more in Superintendent Baker’s Op-Ed. We invite community input as we develop the first draft of next year’s spending plan:
On October 22nd from 6-7:30pm, we will host community conversations to inform the first draft of our budget. These meetings will be held simultaneously in the MUHS library and at Bridport, Cornwall, Ripton, Salisbury, Shoreham, and Weybridge schools. You are welcome to join any location.
You can also share your thoughts using this survey. Please complete the survey by 9pm on October 22nd.
Note: Nadya is unable to join the Cornwall session. Jen Kravitz, principal of Mary Hogan and former principal of Cornwall, will host in my place.
