Hello Country Dale Family!
We continue to focus on enhancing our literacy skills, and we’re excited to share some updates and tips to support your child’s reading journey! K4 - 3rd grade practice Heggerty Phonics every morning. The students follow the teacher’s lead to segment words, blend words, focus on beginning and ending sounds. It is very interactive, rigorous, and engaging. All grade levels continue to work on fluency and comprehension skills utilizing our new curriculum, Savaas/My View. Please consider reading with your child nightly to reinforce these skills.
We had a successful first annual Literacy Night last week! This event was planned and implemented by our Family Engagement Team. It was educational and fun! Thank you to the staff that gave their time as well as the families that attended. See our school Facebook page for pictures! We can’t wait to plan another for next year with even more interactive activities!
Thank you for your support in fostering a love for reading. Together, we can help our children become confident, enthusiastic readers!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Nickel

TRUNK-OR-TREAT
Trunk-or-Treat is Wednesday, October 30th from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Host a trunk or just come for fun! If you would like to host a trunk, please fill out this Google Form. The deadline to sign up is Friday, October 25th. Please check the responses if you want to avoid having a similar trunk as someone else. Trunk set-up begins at 5:30pm.
Don’t want to host a trunk, but still want to help?
This year, we are looking for candy or trinket donations. If you would like to donate, please email the PTO at admin@countrydalepto.org so we know how much to expect. You can either bring the candy/trinkets the day of the event and drop off at the Concessions, or schedule a meet-up with a PTO member and we’ll be happy to bring it to the event.
The PTO will be offering hot dogs and hot chocolate during Trunk-or-Treat, and we will need a few volunteers to help us serve up these BOOlicious snacks! Sign up here: Trunk-or-Treat Volunteers.
STAFF SNACK SIGN-UP
We are once again bringing back “Staff Snacks” so we can show our Country Dale staff how grateful we are for all of them! Snacks can be anything from homemade cookies or bars, bagels, soft drinks, coffee, candy, donuts, or anything else you might be thinking of. This does not need to be a meal by any means, just a small way to say, “We appreciate you!”
There are 2 slots available each week, so you can sign-up alone or grab a few neighbors to chip in together. In order to ensure we don’t have any conflicting snack days, the teachers have suggested bringing snacks on Wednesdays. If this does not work out for you, please email Terri at the office, and check to see if another day the week you picked would work.
