FXBG Advance: City Schools to Purchase 10 New Electric Buses
"Fredericksburg City Public Schools has been awarded a $3.5 million grant from the Environmental Protection Agency's Clean School Bus program, which it will use to purchase 10 new electric school buses. The 10 new buses will be added to the existing electric bus fleet for a total of 20 electric buses."

James Monroe Freshman Becomes State Champion
On Saturday, June 1, James Monroe freshman Finé Swain was crowned State Champion in the Long Jump. Swain also earned All-State honors in the 100m and 200m events. Sophomore Harmony Jones earned All-State honors in the Long Jump. Congratulations!

Summer Meals
In order to be successful both at school and at home, students need high-quality nutritional options. For 10 weeks in the summer, the Summer Food Service Program offers free meals to kids 18 and under. Meals can be claimed at a number of locations in Fredericksburg and surrounding areas.

UPCOMING Career Fair
Are you a licensed teacher, prospective career-switcher, or just wondering about pathways to a career in education? Stop by our Career Fair on Tuesday, June 4, between 3pm and 6pm! The event will be held at the Walker-Grant Center, at 210 Ferdinand Street, Fredericksburg 22401 VA.
Preregistration is preferred, but same-day walk-ins are welcome.
Family Engagement on Demand
Family Engagement on Demand is an online platform for schools that provides families with 24/7 access to streaming videos on academic and social/emotional topics to help them support their child's learning at home.
Books-A-Million Summer Book Drive
Each summer, Books-A-Million partners with local schools to help put books and educational resources in the hands of students and teachers. Be sure to stop by your local Books-A-Million store between Sunday, July 21, and Sunday, August 18, to contribute to their donation bins.
