The Scandia Scoop #35

As the warm spring weather finally arrives, we’re feeling the energy and excitement blooming all around us—especially from our students! Their positive attitudes and dedication have truly shone through this week, particularly in the way they’ve approached MCA testing with focus and determination. We’re proud of their hard work and perseverance. Wishing you and your family a restful and joyful weekend!

• March 31-April: Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments grades 3-6

• April 18 (Friday)- No School (Holiday)

• April 21 (Monday)- No School (Elementary Teacher PD Day)

As we approach MCA testing, we want to remind you of the importance of these assessments. The MCA tests help us measure student progress and ensure they are on track for academic success. To support your child, please encourage a good night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast, and a positive mindset on testing days. Your encouragement and support make a difference in helping them do their best. Thank you for partnering with us in your child’s education!

MCAs will begin on at the end of March and continue into April. Details regarding your student's testing day(s) will come from their classroom teacher.

Calling all students in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6!!

Information went home this week about the Midco Story Contest! Students can submit a 1 page story with a picture to the contest by May 23rd for a chance to win the 1st place prize of $50 and $250 for their teacher! Eight lucky finalists will be awarded $50 each and their story will be featured in the Lilleskogen Children's Story Path in Lilleskogen Park! Submit stories to your teacher for your chance to win!

Our next PTO meeting is will be Tuesday, May 13th at 4pm in the Scandia Media Center.
