SRP Updates
iREAD
In November instructions for downloading this year’s SRP Guide from iREAD was sent to the SRP contact at each library (in most cases the children's librarian/head of youth services). Please check with your SRP contact for download instructions. If you do not know your library's contact or if no one at your library received instructions, please contact Danielle at danielle.margarida@olis.ri.gov.
Also:
- In lieu of the voucher process, OLIS will be printing and distributing early literacy, children's, teen, and adult/all ages posters. SRP contacts will be receiving a form in the next few weeks to submit your library's poster request. (Don't worry, you haven't missed the form!)
- You can purchase additional iREAD materials at your own cost in the iREAD Store with the credentials your Summer Reading Contact creates when downloading the Guide. The next deadline for ordering from the store is March 1.
- For more information on this year's program, you may view the iREAD State Partners Webinar Recording and the Presentation Slides from this past September

RITBA Voting Has Begun
January 24-February 28
It’s that time of year again! The new year marks the time when the teens of Rhode Island get a chance to pick the book they think is best they have read, from a list selected by teachers, public librarians, and school library media specialists. That’s right, it is election time for the 2022 Rhode Island Teen Book Award.
Where can teens in grades 9-12 vote? Teens can vote in their schools and local public libraries. Interested schools and libraries can use the online ballot at tinyurl.com/RITBAvote22 or use the printable ballot on the Rhode Island Teen Book Award website at https://riteenbookaward.org/ritba/voting.
Call for RILA Conference Proposals
Save the Date! The Rhode Island Library Association 2022 Annual Conference will be held on May 25 - 26, 2022 at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI. The youth & school library track will be on Thursday, May 26, 2022.
The call for proposals is now open and accepting your submissions. The committee strives to create a vibrant conference that will leave attendees invigorated and inspired. Your proposal does not need to fit the theme to be considered for inclusion in the conference.
Please submit your proposals by Sunday, February 6, 2022, at the 2022 RILA Annual Conference Call for Proposals form . You will also find a link for a Google Doc with all required questions to help you more easily work on proposals before submission.
