Superintendent Letter
Dear Panther Families,
As the school year comes to an end, we reflect on the many moments that made 2024–2025 unforgettable. From classroom milestones and new programs to field trips and community events, our students have grown academically, socially, and emotionally. One highlight we’ll never forget was the Best School Day Ever, a day filled with fun, connection, and memories that brought smiles to students and staff alike. May brought even more excitement with a magical prom night and a heartfelt graduation ceremony celebrating the Class of 2025 and all they’ve accomplished.
We also want to take a moment to extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated teachers and staff for their unwavering commitment throughout the year. Your efforts make a lasting impact every single day. A special thank you and best wishes go out to our retirees. You leave behind a legacy of service and your contributions will not be forgotten.
Finally, we want to extend a huge thank you to the families and community members who make Redford Union School District a place Where U Belong. Because of your support, we can continue improving our schools through the $44.375 million bond program passed on May 6th. These tradition-rich, future-focused efforts allow us to continue building a strong foundation for our students, ensuring they can learn to their full potential and have a supportive, nurturing environment to come to every day.
Wishing all our families a safe and restful summer. It's always a great day to be a Panther!

Girls' Flag Football Team Ends Another Incredible Season
This month, we are spotlighting the Redford Union Girls' flag football team. They had a dominant, undefeated season, finishing 3-0 in the "It Takes More" League and securing first place for a second year. Under the leadership of Head Coach Jonathan Ghazal and Assistant Coach Tristan Phelps, the team has defeated every opponent they've faced, with some students earning scholarships to continue their flag football playing days in college. Their stellar performance earned them a return trip to Ford Field for the first ever single-elimination state championship tournament. Congratulations on a successful season to these Lady Panthers!
Getting To Know U: Staff and Student Spotlights
Getting to Know U: Elisia Juzswik
This month, we are featuring Elisia Juzswik! After two remarkable years serving as the student representative on the Board of Education, Elisia graduates not only with a diploma but also with a legacy of leadership and development. Once a shy and reserved student, she transformed into a more vocal advocate for her peers at the highest levels of the District.
Through the District's Early College Program, Elisia will soon earn her associate degree before continuing her studies at a four-year university, where she plans to major in neuroscience and political science. Elisia shares this advice for those who will follow her path: “Time goes by so quickly, so remember to stop and take it all in. Remind yourself that there is always a seat at the table, but it’s up to you to take it.”
