A Message From Mr. Lynch
Happy New Year! We are thrilled to share that we’ve had a fantastic week welcoming students back after winter break. The energy and enthusiasm they bring to school each day are truly heartwarming.
As we dive into the winter season, we kindly remind you to ensure your children are dressed appropriately for the weather. We head outside for recess as long as the wind chill is 20 degrees or higher, so hats, gloves, scarves, and warm coats are essential for keeping everyone comfortable and safe.
A big thank you goes out to all who attended the PTA meeting yesterday. Your involvement and support make a tremendous difference! If you haven’t had a chance to join yet, we encourage you to come to a future meeting and discover all the wonderful things the Brimfield PTA has to offer.
Thank you for being a part of our amazing school community. Together, we continue to make Brimfield Elementary a wonderful place for our children to learn and grow.
Counselors Corner
Dear Field Families,
Building confidence in our students is important. Whether your child is full of confidence or seems to be in constant self-doubt, there are things we can be doing every day to help build those feelings of confidence. Here are some ideas for families to incorporate ideas on how to build confidence. One way to help children build confidence is by encouraging them to learn and try new things. Whether it is a new sport or activity, trying something new can help students gain the confidence to continue to grow and adapt to new environments. Although they may struggle at first, once they accomplish their goals, they will feel capable and competent. Similarly, giving your child age-appropriate responsibilities, like taking care of their things, taking care of a pet, etc. can help your child feel like they can contribute to making the world a better place. Like any skill or habit you want your child to pick up on, it’s important to model positive self-esteem. Children are always watching. When you turn your mistakes into opportunities to learn, use positive self-talk, or accomplish new things, your child will feel empowered to do the same.
If you have any concerns please feel free to contact me!

PBIS
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach designed to foster a positive school climate by encouraging appropriate behavior. It focuses on teaching and reinforcing clear behavioral expectations in a consistent and structured way. PBIS emphasizes prevention rather than punishment, using data to identify and support students who may need additional help. By recognizing and rewarding positive behavior, PBIS aims to improve student engagement, reduce disciplinary issues, and create a more inclusive, respectful learning environment where all students can thrive academically and socially.
At Brimfield Elementary, students help to identify positive expectations and receive incentives for appropriate behavior. Your child may be chosen to participate in the Principal’s Club, receive a red SOAR ticket, or earn a Principal’s Good News call. The staff at Brimfield works hard to use positive words with students. Instead of telling a child to “stop running” in the hallway, the direction might be to “move throughout the halls in a controlled and safe manner”. Thank you, in advance, for partnering with us and using positive statements with your child. We are very proud of our PBIS program and look forward to celebrating the great behavior of our young Falcons!
